Not sure about in San Diego, but in Reno, I have had Napa Auto Parts get Dexter axles and suspension parts for my trailers.

Napa (Reno) has a local source of supply because the parts are ready for pickup usually in the late afternoon of the same day.

Might give the local store a visit.....

There is also an Aros in Escondido, just North of San Diego.

the labor on repairing the axle is going to be astronomical in San Diego, just go south to TJ where they can do it for a fraction of the cost.

Hope you get it fixed quickly and continue safely on your way.

Is this a result of your travels via Gonzaga, or did you go through San Quintin?

Yes, very curious if you took the Gonzaga route....I'm thinking that if you are in SD, then you stayed along the Pacific side. Never mind..... Just saw your other thread!

Any good trailer place should have a 3500 pound axle, they are very common. Good luck!

OK SO HERE'S THE FULL STORY!
I asked about axles in San Diego when I was in Rice and Beans, San Ignacio hoping I would find posting when I got to SAN. Thanks to all who have tried to help BUT as I was in San Quintin after changing 5 tires from Mulege to SQ I was in the first tire shop on the left as you enter town to buy another tire and I asked about maybe straightening the axle enough to get me to SAN. The old guy who runs the place said "no problemo!". So 2 1/2 hrs later after removing the axle, bending it on an old muffler tube bender and reinstalling , we were on our way! I bought one new tire as a backup spare but still have the one on that we had going into SQ!. Will be able to make Tucson tomorrow and find axles, etc I think. Decided to go to Tecate after the fix as things went very well with the repaired axle.
Now, they cut the wires to the electric brake on that axle and didn't reconnect but 1 works. I will be changing both anyway as i want to go to a straight axle instead of the 4" drop so I get more ground clearance.
Now to what I hit!
A hole neither of us saw less than a mile from Mulege. On the down hill right after the big left turn with the cross there is a hole that is VERY HARD TO SEE on the right edge! Of course I had to hit it. It actually bent the rim of the rim of the wheel. I stopped at the yyantera right there as you enter Mulege and he bent it back to shape with a hammer. I then parked Villa maria and looked things over and found the axle bent at the spring perch.
Stayed a few days in Mulege and then started the drag back to SAN.
I'll have a couple other posts about other things on the trip but again Thanksto all.
