Just got a call. It sounds like the house made it through with just some broken solar panels and some shrubs missing. Oh and my brother has a little
travel trailer there and the door decided to leave for parts unknown. Surprisingly the trailer didn't move though. No broken windows on the house
either. |
A shell of a trailer ended up on my property.

To all who sent me emails, thank you. We are fine and survived.
Have water and food for awhile so all good there.
Lots of damage at the house. I really should of bought that generated.
TS has been pretty much handled. Electric poles and transformers line the streets,
Many homes destroyed. Trailers rolled.
The pedrito arroyo was raging from bank to bank and it
at least a car and a garage that I could see.
But there is a calm in the town and everyone is cleaning up
And trying to move on some how.

I've got an email in to Aleq for 48ish hours now. we were there for hurricane Paul 3 years ago and it fared well. the rio just outside his pool wall
flowed. not to much more than blowing water thru the windows.

woody,
Thanks....I sent him an e-mail yesterday....and am not expecting a quick reply....also called his sister in Washington and hope to hear from her in a
day or so...
Hoping to spend 2 weeks at Casa Rancho over Xmas again....but my needs at this time certainly are less important than the recovery process in
Baja....

I think motoged is talking about Las Brisas. It's up on the hill from Esquina and bomberos. I know some people who live or have property there so I
am worried about them particularly it's on the top of the hill. . . .
Any news or pictures from that area will be greatly appreciated!

Here's an upbeat assessment from Alvaro Colindres:
Todos Santos Pemex is intact and open for business. The highway is open to La Paz and CSL. The clean up process and restoring services are well on
their way. Although the news probably does not look good, it's not all bad. We are going to prevail! And there is no place I'd rather be!!! Todos
Santos, BCS

And this, also from Alvaro:
Calle Juarez In front of
Hotel California fallen trees are cleared. Jardin de Niņos is good shape. The Kingdom Hall near our home seemed untouched. Aliser market open. Bought
lighters bottled water. No word when jugs of drinking water will arrive. More later....

Yes, that is the area I was asking about....I have stayed at a rental complex there called Casa Rancho....Alex, the owner, is apparently OK and the
damage to their property is evident but not catastrophic.....according to his sister, Monica, who lives in Washington state as I spoke with her
briefly today by phone (Thursday).

Hi,
All is well at Casa Rancho. We had extensive palapa damage but nothing structural to the rooms or kitchens.
I already dismantled the 2 palapas and they are on the street. One neighboor just took a major load of free firewood. And now I have about 20 cargas
of pre drilled leaves if anyone is interested.
Gas is now available, cel phones on, bancomer open for a few hours this morning.
People are seriously rallying to clean up and the place already looks decent.
Woody, paul was a mere sea breeze compared to this monster.
The noise and pressure were unbelievable. It felt like being in on airplane that was going down.
More later.

Has anyone seen Jim Coulson of Cerritos. He has a Big faded red construction truck and a worn black jeep.

I have some friends staying at Mountain Shadow RV Park. I have not heard from them since the storm hit.
Does anyone know how that location is doing? Is it damaged heavily.

Here I am!
Uggg!! Now THAT was a storm!
I am at shut up franks. No cell service, no electricity. They have a generator and Telmex phone and internet is working.
What can I say? About 60% of all power poles are down and just about every large tree and every piece of aluminum roof.
The road that the Mtn. Shadows rv park on is ruined so I can't comment on anything there.
If the building is made of Cement, it is probably still there. I have seen many RVs here in TS flipped on their side, stripped on their siding or
crushed. I have seen others completely flipped over. I have seen a few still okay.
Looting is a huge problem. Many many families lost everything they own. Food is in short supply but the government has an 18 wheeler here giving out
free food and water. The President was here yesterday.
I am ok. Damage to the properties I care for and my personal house was wiped out. But all in all, I'm okay.
