I was told it was similar to the '07 course, and sure enough it is. I head south in four weeks. Am I doing the PP Dance? You bet.

Yes it does say Golf.

The 2007 1000 went thru Mikes Sky Ranch and stayed east of hwy 1 until the Guayaquil area. It also went south near El Cipres east of Socorro (San Quintin area) to a ranch called El Castillo east of El Rosario in the almanac. I don't think it will take that route since the ranch is closed to thru traffic. Of course SCORE may have gotten permission. I think it will come south in that area by way of Los Martires which was the northern route in the 2013 1000.

A big thank you to the Rodriguez family of Los Pinos Ranches. They helped get permission from all the ranches for the route. Local influence helps!

I believe the 1X team of Bell, Hengeveld, Campbell beat the trucks by over an hour for the overall.

I didn't splain myself clearly. I was just referring to the northern end of the course.

I just made some close up versions of the race course map off the SCORE site. Posted on TW's map post in the Nomad Off Roading forum, and now here, too>>>

I am going to print this map out and show it to all the middle and high school kids!I love that it says to TAKE MORE TRASH OUT THAN YOU BRING IN!

This should really help me stress the importance of taking care of the environment!

About what time will they start going through checkpoint 7, south of Mulege? Will it be dark?

The pro bikes made it to El Arco around 3PM (guessing, if I remember correctly) back in 2012, so yeah, I'd say it would be about dark by the time most get to checkpoint 7. Most people coming thru checkpoint 7 would be doing it at night.

In 2010 and '12, we started chasing around La Purisima, and the TTs started to arrive around midnight on Friday (early Fri morning). Friday will be another long day this year.

The start times will dictate when they arrive. Expect some radically different start times for motorcycles and/or Trophy Trucks... Figure 50 mph average for the faster classes.

Any comments about the track from Hwy 1 to Coco's. I wonder if the BFG super duty really was able the make that track or if it is even passable by the rest of us?
Comments?
