| Undersea volcano east of East Cape

It maybe old news, but Bajagringo posted the spanish version on his facebook page. Sorry for the poor translation.

San Jose of the End, B.C.S. - The assertion of the discovery of a volcano to hundred kilometers off the coast of End of the East to 2,375 meters of
the surface of the sea, motivated the correspondents' presence of foreign press in the place (Telemundo and Xinhua) that the weekend realized
submarine captures and a reportage in the place, where it is important to clarify, there is knowledge of the matter, but since there is no physical
declaration of the phenomenon in the surface, the life passes normally.

The discovery American (AGU) was announced in the annual meeting of the Geophysical Union at the end of previous December, as it showed Brian Dreyer,
Geoquímico of the University of California in Santa Cruz, who spoke about the chemical composition of the rocks that were extracted by a device
robótico, riolitas about lava of a strange composition that only they can find in active volcanoes located in continental superficial zones as the
mount Holy Helena de Washington.

The expedition of three months was shaped by investigators of the Institute of Investigation of the Aquarius of Monterey California, which extracted
the unusual local rocks. “ To find them along a comb in the Ocean is a surprise ”, Jennifer Paduan mentioned.

He confirms that it is a question of a dome vocánico actively, which has been located in the elevation of Alarcón opposite to The Ends. This for the
evidence of the rocks of riolita, which are shaped of granite and lava.

IF IT EXPLOITS IT CAN GENERATE TSUNAMI

The same researcher Jennifer Paduan does not discard that a violent explosion of the newly baptized one as volcano Alarcón, could generate an event of
major nature in the place in which they do not also discard the possibility of a tsunami that could affect the coast of The Ends.

Textually he affirms that for the explosive local deposits, there is big worry because the mountain range is so next to the firm ground that exists
potential to generate a tsunami.

And the findings are extremely cool:

This is really interesting reading, Correcamino. Right now, I'm looking in the direction of Alarcon through my office window. Now I'm wondering if a
tidal wave would reach up this high. Not gonna lose any sleep over the idea.
