Even without rain we have plenty of baches in Baja...
Just drove 1150 miles thru Baja. Some places along hwy 1 are in great shape, some are really bad. (Maybe the dry weather actually made it easier for
some of the repairs over the last two years?)
.Thought this article was interesting re rainfall in other areas in northern MX.
"Whatever the nomenclature, baches are a part of the Mexican landscape in the north where there have been record rainfalls in recent months.
Meteorologists say it’s been the rainiest in 38 years. From November 2014 to the 20th of March of 2015 there has been accumulated rainfall of 269
millimeters. This is a 169% increase over the historical average rainfall for this time of year. Normally 100 millimeters of precipitation is
expected."

I had a good laugh a few weeks ago. My family and I were camped at Papa Fernandez'. I needed to get in some miles so I decided to run south along
the new paved road and my family would pick me up after breakfast for our trip south.
It was interesting to look at the road work close up. Some of the concrete drains were already being undermined from recent rains. When I came
across the railings, though, I had to laugh or cringe. A hole had been dug for each post. But, only every other post was there. I figure the
contractor billed for each post but only installed every other one. Also, most of the signs along the highway only have cement on one of the legs
with the other just in the ground.
It will be interesting to see how long the new road holds shape.

I wonder how the road signs were attached to the post? They have all blown off of them. Just about every one.
Also, I don't get the curb along the whole way. Really can't pull off until you come to the big turn outs.
