beautiful Baja churches
A really nice photo thread going on ("It's just the desert") in the trip reports forum. Wondered if we could start another photo thread with our
favorites. . . beautiful Baja churches.
This is the church at San Roque (north of Bahía Asunción).

Wonderful concept.
Here's Santa Rosalillita's entryway:

Floridian ugliness.\" (John Steinbeck, 1940, discussing the future of La Paz, BCS, Mexico)

At San Ignacio next to the town square.
Here's one of my first visited ...and still a favorite part of Baja history.
The majestic church of San Ignacio de Loyola rises at the front of this very welcoming plaza.
I do what the voices in my tackle box tell me.

We took a tour of the San Roque church, also, güéribo. Some history there about a fire, too. Here's some other views.

That's the last photo you'll see before all the modifications and rebuilding are finished.

I was surprised when Shari posted the rebuilding of that church the other day.
Here are photos I took in 2007 there...

Simple church, beautiful surroundings. Little church at the site of ex-misión de Guadalupe.

Love this one. I was expecting either Clint Eastwood or The Duke riding a Palomino past the entrance. |

I like it- sepia tones. Adds a nice quallity.
