Some of the Greek thinkers, as well as Roman brilliant minds have outlined that the masses will always be manipulated and effed. Many others followed. Always pointing out who is doing what to whom. We, the simple people, never listened or did understand.
hey, we want food, fun and a better life than yesterday. No time to understand complex concepts.

The few leaders who put it in simple words (from Jesus to john F or Martin L)
did not make it out alive. If Bernie ever advances from his senate position might end up the same way.

Is there hope? Sure - because it's not rational.

One of the recent thinkers talk about this every day. Few listen. Even less understand. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGQoCS7ty1g

I am buying some Alcoa. With the number of tin-foil hats on display here the price of foil has to go sky hi.

Far's ol' Uncle Carlos is concerned, I'm just friggin' JEALOUS, that's all. And, I think i'm the only one on this board to just admit to it. I also don't think there's any rule about sharing, either. If I made it, it's mine.

We have the same issue here in Sierra County, NM.... the 2nd poorest County in America (the 1st is San Juan County, Utah, my last residence). Ted Turner, 'Captain America' as he's know in these parts gets the same dissing all the time by the ignorant-and-proud-of-it clod busters who unanimously vote for the party of the wealthy "Less-Gov't" Baggers. Ted owns two huge ranches in the area. What they don't know (a lot of them do however) is Teddy has given very substantial help to the community over the years behind the scenes. I believe once he just straight-up donated a billion bucks to charity, because he decided he had 8, and 7 was more than enough.

Far's tin foil hats, I think Cappy's is made of cast iron. Too much exhaust and carb cleaner. KW, you've proven yourself to be illiterate, and now a bigot; you are a disgrace to your own race.

The human race.

History has shown there is no other way. When an extreme wealth or power imbalance exists, the masses redistribute it,... You can only trod on the backs of the poor for so long, sooner or later they wise up or rise up and cut the legs from underneath you. Enjoy it while it lasts, nothing is forever.

Wish I would have known this when I was young, back when I thought that hard work and responsibility for my behavior could lead to a better life. I could have saved myself a lot of work "slavin for the man" just to be kept under his boot.

don't worry for the rich and powerful - they will always be rich and powerful. There will be the occasional revolution, but things will be back to normal soon after. With a new label and some emotional comfort for the ruled. And hey, nobody wants to kill the masses, not Monsanto, not any government - they are needed to produce wealth for the rulers and the wealthy. And they need healthy heros (soldiers) to take from the neighbors.

Even though they need us, we don't have any power to change the game in our favor. We are too many, not smart enough, especially not smart enough to realize how we are emotionally manipulated into fighting for them. Into admiring them.

Communism? Don't worry. The wealthy don't like that model much. Too messy.
Socialism? Yeah, maybe a sprinkle here and there to keep the masses happy.

So-called socialism brought us things like social security. I really do not understand the right that keeps talking about communism.

In fact. there has really never been an experiment in communism as envisioned by Marx. It has all been about dictatorial regimes.

For my money, many countries in Europe practice a form of democratic socialism that grants their citizens free health care, and weeks of vacation, among other things. No one should underestimate the economic power of Germany, that has those things and more.

The US is under the thumb of big corporations, that continues to decimate the middle class.

God love those big corporations! Without them and people like Carlos Slim, we would have no jobs....People like Goat would have to go to work instead of living on the dole...And where would the taxes come from? OH Right, the downtrodden (now unemployed)...
