 Article doesn't state how much the daily parking rate for those "nearly 900 parking spaces" will be in addition to the tolls for the bridge and the

 You have to be a ticketed passenger to use the bridge, though you can cross within 24 hours of your flight time.
 
 The bridge is 390 feet. Assuming you parked at the north edge of the property, your total walk would be about 800 feet -- or the same distance as the
shelter/fence from the taxi drop-off at Otay to the actual border checkpoint. (Alternate comparison: from Revolución and 6th to Las Pulgas)

 That's almost 3 football field lengths of lugging/ pushing/ pulling your luggage each way.
 
 And when you get into the new terminal you still have to stand in line at Mexican SAT to have your luggage and documentation inspected before you
cross the bridge. And after you cross the bridge you get to stand in line again to check your luggae.
 
 And returning to the US you have to deal with ICE before you go to your car.

 all in all...about the same hassle as using the Otay crossing, except no taxi ride and not getting stuck in the crowded, heat, and sometimes 2 hour
line at Otay. Always had my luggage scanned at the pickup area of TJ before they let you out and scanned at Otay.
 
 I look forward to a new US facility after a few minutes of getting out of the TJ airport and up to the walk way. We have been watching this and
waiting for many trips back from the TJ airport to Otay, but it falls short of our next flight in September and will be a treat for the one in
February. Easier drop off for family members and will wait for the parking fees to see if 'Otay truck Parking' is still a good option for when family
can't be there.
 
 As far as lines...we have rarely been with more than a dozen or so Americano's at a terminal in the TJ airport and fewer than that at Otay after
flying in. We have stood with hundreds of Mexican nationals at Otay though. For a while it might be no crowds at all at the bridge and maybe for
longer as I still have a hard time convincing people that Mexico is a great place to visit and Fly!
 
 On second thought...bad bridge, bad. The cartels are waiting to kill all those who come off of it. Stay away. Do not chance flying in Mexico and never
out of TJ!
 By the way could you give me a ride in February to the new bridge?

 It isn't any further than parking your car in the central parking at LAX or any other airport and walking to your gate. The 800 feet includes the
bridge. You will need to stop and get your FMM, of course, because there are no flights to other cities in the border free zone. But lines for
documentation checks and luggage and security are the same in any airport.
 
 I wonder if INM will require FMMs for people flying to Shanghai.

 My daughter often flies down to see us. If she flies out of TJ the return flight arrives at about 9:30 PM if it is on time. It worries me that a
single gal is negotiating taxi and Otay border line after daylight hours. Just makes the dad hackles stand up on the back of my neck even though she
is very well traveled and totally capable.
 
 So I will be pleased to know she can just walk across the bridge along with other passengers. Options are always good.

 Parking will still be easy at Delta Trucking's lot down the street..$8 a day w/ shuttle service included..
 Going south, take the shuttle to Otay Crossing.. $5 taxi and 15 min later you are walking in the front door of the airport.. Returning north use the
new crossing $15 and 15 min later you are waiting for the Delta shuttle to pick you up and take you back to the lot...
