Skeet...... The storm came straight up the center of the Sea of Cortez about 70 miles offshore at Loreto. It generated some big seas, but apparently
there was little rain in the mountains. There is no water at all running in the arroyo south of town. I doubt the wind ever exceeded 50 knots or so
and there was little wind damage.
Thanks again for the great pictures. Amazing the wash was dry. I am sure the car cover is gone from the boat and Suburban. But everything else
seems rather calm and collected.
I'm so glad everyone seems to be fine and baja got some much needed rain...as usual nothing but sunshine and westerly breeze here and the swell has
gone down considerably today...enough for Juan & Bajaboy to look for yellow tail tomorrow up san pablo way.

You're so right, Larry. Had to be the engineers that made the overpass by the airport about 100 feet short.
Maybe it's just in the wrong place.
That whole stretch between La Paz and El Centenario is a fine example of highway design as done by Laurel and Hardy: one would think common sense
would dictate that the roadway in a vado should be above the level of the downstream arroyo that's supposed to drain it, but maybe gravity
behaves differently in Chametla. --Larry
And screw up job security??? Does anyone beside me truly believe that the
word culvert isn't in the Spanish language? It can't be, they don't use it even when roads that "T" into the hwy sit 1-6' below hwy level!

Tomorrow's forcast calls for offshore seas at 4-5 feet, winds under 10 knots. Warmer water current have been flirting within 4-10 miles west of san
Pablo - over 74 degrees.
Good fishing !!!

Can anybody tell us if there was damage to anyone of the RV parks in the Cabo area?
2030, Los Cabos
I haven't heard of any damage at the RV parks. As far as hurricanes go, it was pretty mild. Not a whole lot of damage anywhere. One death was
reported on Medano Beach in San Lucas. Someone killed in the surf, which was monstrous in this area! Around 20 ft. breakers if not more. Don't know
if it was Mexican or Gringo.
I tried to drive out to BajaJudy's place today but the road through the arroyo is out. They are building a new bridge over the arroyo but it isn't
complete and is still unusable. I know that she and Jim are fine out there. I believe they still don't have power there in the Playita yet. And I'm
sure they are busy cleaning up. Winds were reported at 75 to 80 mph late yesterday morning. The eye passed right over the top of us around 1400 -
1430. Very interesting experience. The backside of the storm was a piece of cake. Some street signs and lamposts toppled. Mud on the road in low
spots. A few trees were uprooted. I have not heard of any buildings suffering significant damage. We lost a lot of our beach here on the Costa
Brava.
Today was mostly sunny, light breeze, and no rain. Temps were in the low 80's. Really a very pleasant day. Things are getting back to normal very
quickly.
have just received word of storm damage in Pto Escondido. one boat, Moon Me, sank and total loss.
So far it is known there is damage to Last Mango, La Pettie, Backstreet, Western Sea , Moon Me, Erikazona and Boardroom. It is too soon to tell the
extent of damage.
A couple boats, with captains on board, broke lose but were able to anchor. Only one caused damage to another boat.
I'm currently in the states will post more info as I get it.

Cool, Henrietta is now knocking on my backdoor. Bring it on! We need the rain.

What a difference a night will make in my attitude! Low tide now and groups of people are loading up on the clams that rolled up. There are thousands
of them (clams). Nice West wind and clear skies and cool temps at 76º. Oh, and some works showed up to start the boathouse clean up. Life is GOOD!
Thanks all for your concern! Russ

While riding the bus from Urapan to Lazaro Card##as on the mainland a few years back the bus I was on suddenly veered off the main road. There was a
little dirt track that went through a river right next to a perfectly good looking bridge. A sign next to bridge read, "Use bridge only during times
of high water."
The $500,000.00 bus forded a 3 foot deep river and my bag underneath got wet. Somehow, even though the bridge looked fine, I think the river ford was
the better choice.
You gota love Mexico. Don't think of the "Mexican Way" as not doing things the right way... think of it as doing things until they have failed enough
to ensure that a better way must be found. Sorta like Infrastructural Darwinism.

maybe that should be amended to: the mistakes that survive are the solution to the problem
