That water spot looks like where we washed off the sweat. We looked for the pinturas at the mouth of the canyon but saw only the ones that I
described. Where are these beauties?

You were looking at the boulder they are under when you were in that pool. They are on the south side of the canyon under the biggest boulder within
a 100 yards of the pool.

I missed them as well Arthur... we met Burro Bob after we hiked out... an he told us about them. The only petro we saw (Jide spotted it), was up on
the cliff, north side, not far inside the fence from the parking spot.

David, not sure what you mean by the parking spot, but on the north side would put it across the creek, right? My buddy looked pretty carefully and
couldn't find anything up on that wall of the canyon.
Bob, thanks for the tip. And it gives me another reason to go back up the canyon. It would be good to see that place where the 3 rivers join, but,
jeez, we walked a long way that day. That shot of the water hole is great -- I stuck it on my desktop and the resolution looks fine.

Well, we parked near the fence, on the south side of the arroyo (up on the bank)... Walked through the cattle opening... and very soon jide saw the
big pintura on the right/ north face (before the tank)... he climbed up for a photo, but it didn't show very well on film.
Here is the water tank in El Cajon...
