We have Sky in Loreto with HBO/Max package, about 600 MN a month.
Many Spanish Language channels
Lots of movie channels, most in English with Spanish subtitles. However, HBO is HBO Latin america: http://www.hbo-la.tv
It's a bit different...you won't get stuff like The Sopranos until much later. It's not as good, imo.
Network TV shows...no NBC, CBS, ABC, but, many shows are carried on stations like Fox, Sony, AXN, American Network...stuff like Desparate Housewives,
Gray's Anatomy, American Idol, but i don't keep up on all that stuff. We get Letterman, but not Leno, but I don't know if it's current. Saturday Night
Live is reruns. The Simpsons is available in English and also Spanish, diffrent times and channels.
Kid stuff...most children's programming is in Spanish. At on time they have Ren and Stimpy, Duckman, and South Park all in a row and in Spanish. Talk
about corrupting youth!  Wish we could get South Park in English!
News...includes Fox News, CNN International. No "regular" CNN. CBS Evening News on the American Network channel.
Sports...mostly Mexican channels, 2 ESPN channels, and Fox sports. The Fox channel usually has commentary in Spanish, the ESPN channels in English.
For an extra charge, lots of pro football available. The Fox and ESPN sport channels are Spanish Language versions, so there are many soccer futbol
games, and Sportcenter is a Spanish version. Not too much US Baseball or college sports, but the really big games are on. Seems to be lots of NBA
though.
Lots of music channels, MTV, VH1 (but I believe both are la versions, but I don't know for sure) Bandamex, etc.
Reliability has been good. Billing is automatic from a credit card, which was required along with a contract of a year or maybe more, I don't
remember.
Recommendation...if you mostly like movies, it's OK. Same for lots of network TV shows; Sky may not have them all but they have a lot, including most
I have heard of. If you think Fox News is "Fair and Balanced?" you may be happy, but if you prefer CNN you have to settle for a lot of really boring
"World Sport" and "Africa Today" programming on CNN international.
But, hey, you're in Mexico...there are some really cool old Mexican movies on the two Pelicula channels. Did you know Mexico has a strong movie
history, that not only displays but helped shape their national culture? Check it out.

that dose not make it "legit". it is illegal . it is against the law in both Mexico and the US to have that system set up where you have it. allot of
people have the Dish Network and other US and Canadian sat. services Here in Baja sur, and they work just fine. I would put the dish where it cant be
seen by others and not Brag to much about it to others especially on the internet. |

Is the above illegal because el jefe has a San Diego address which really isn't his residence? Or is it the DishNet or DirecTV receiver from up
North that is illegal down South?
I was planning on bringing one of my receivers from home (Colorado) to Todos Santos and hooking it to a 1m dish.
Is that illegal?
For the record, I support local and Mex!

Legal?
Certain binding international treaties or agreements cover satellite broadcasting. Current agreements keep US dish marketers on their side of the
border, and Mexico's Sky on its side. So it is a violation of that agreement for a US provider to knowingly supply the equpment, including the
decoding card, for a system to be used in Mexico.
If you acquire equipment and the decoding cards only after providing fraudulent information to the satellite provider it seems to me you could be
busted if the authorities wanted to bother.
There are a number of Sky providers in every town, maybe all it takes is one to maybe ask the law to assist in "converting" an "illegal" US /Canadian
dish to a Sky dish.
