That's a dorado on a 10 wt Redington fly rod off Las Arenas.

Yeah, that's about as much bend as that graphite rod will handle before it explodes. You never want to bring a flyrod up beyond the horizontal position when fighting a fish. More rods are broken due to 'high stickin' in baja than anything else. Ceiling fans are another menace :lol::lol:, but that's another story.

It only takes once to learn, though. I blew out an 11wt rod on my first trip to Loreto with a flyrod and it never happened again.
