I have a small Dometic portable reftigerator that keeps things cool, but will not reliably make ice. It does not use any electric when running propane so I have found it to be nice when away from town (on the beach) and not near a source of ice. It runs about 4 days on a canister of propane (I use a 2 gal tankfor about 3 weeks). They have re-designed it since I bought mine (about 15 years ago), but they still make basically the same portable.
