Not too sure about the Ralley

But, I would assume you could figure out the political bent of someone organizing a Rally by the objectives promoted in that Rally.

Thankfully, GWB's numbers have DROPPED again recently. I say that because the current drop is shown to have been CONSERVATIVE defections. That got his (and the GOP's) attention. Perhaps now, we'll see a return to the Right's Roots.

Doug: It seems that the Off Topic Forum has been moved to the General Discussion :

As this is a Political and Non- Political I think it best for me to withdraw from this discussion as it gets "My Dander Up!!"
Notice how all the regular Off-Topic moved over to this discussion?
I cured my Addiction once, I do not want to take a second Dose of that Medicine.

Maybe some day we can all have a big Political Party Gathering in Loreto and discuss the future of the Good Ole USA , eyeball to eyeball.

If anyone here really wants to be in the know about the Border Patrol and what a joke our immigration process is read Michelle Malkin's book, INVASION and you will get the clear picture.
What's wrong with a militarized border anyway?? Every other freakin country has it except Canada and they aren't even armed...they run when there is a crisis and close the border....sounds kinda like what France's policy is!

Bruce...The book would blow you away. The 9-11 perps were aided by illegals on how to obtain driver's licenses w/o documentation and the next group of terrorists have already come across with dirty bombs. All our homeland security is an absolute joke. A guy named Angel Recindez was going back and forth across the border and getting caught, deported, serving time, deported, back across....he ended up murdering over 9 people...in and out of Immigration hands, let him loose again and he murdered 4 more before they got their crap together and now he's getting 3 squares a day on death row. His rap sheet was over 5 pages long. One hand has NO clue what the other is doing in our Border Patrol, Immigration, or Homeland Security. They have a computer system now costing over 80 million taxpayer dollars that STILL doesn't work or they don't know how to use it! Bushes new security measures are just a coverup to appease the masses until they legalize the 12 million illegals...Same BS different day. Again, read the book....
INVASION by Michelle Malkin. Should be required reading by CONgress and the Senate.

Unless something substantial actually materializes from Bush's recent rhetoric, I'm going to have to believe that as far as the current administration is concerned, homeland security is worth surrendering the American values of freedom; however, it does not seem to be worth giving up cheap labor from those who sneak across the border.

B.S.

I just finished watching Attorney General Alberto Gonzales on Greta Van Sustical's show. She asked him what penalties an employer would be subject to if he were found to have KNOWINGLY hired an illegal alien. MushMouth talked and talked and NEVER answered the question. Greta gave it a second try, rewording the same question and he still didn't answer it, just mouthed more double-speak. No wonder the Conservatives are bailing on the Administration.

God, I'm glad that GWB gave up on nominating him for a Supreme Court Justice.

GOOD NEWS !

Los Angeles Times Front Page Lead Headline:

"House GOP Fail to Warm to Bush Border Policy" .

The House Republican leaders are making it clear that they still stand by the House version of the Immigration Bill. No matter what the Senate does, it is unlikely that the House will move in that direction. What that probably means is that my previous prediction that NO Immigration Bill will be passed this year is more likely to be correct. NO Bill is better than one like the Senate is debating.

One of my posts hit the perverbial nail on the head about the political sitch in Mexico at the moment and it seems to get worse daily.

MEXICO CITY, Mexico (AP) -- As presidential elections near, many Mexicans fear the country is teetering on the edge of chaos -- a perception that could hurt the ruling National Action Party and benefit Mexico's once-powerful Institutional Revolutionary Party.

Some blame President Vicente Fox for a weak government. Others say rivals are instigating the violence to create that impression, hoping to hurt National Action candidate Felipe Calderon, who has a slight lead in recent polls.

A poll published Friday in the Excelsior newspaper found 50 percent of respondents feared the government was on the brink of losing control. The polling company Parametria conducted face-to-face interviews at 1,000 homes across Mexico. The poll had a margin of error of 3 percentage points.

The conflicts are "a warning sign," said Yamel Nares, Parametria's research director.

Security is the top concern for Mexicans, and Fox has struggled to reform Mexico's notoriously corrupt police. Meanwhile, drug-related bloodshed has accelerated, with some cities seeing killings almost daily.

In April, suspected drug lords posted the heads of two police officers on a wall outside a government building where four drug traffickers died in a January 27 shootout with officers in the Pacific resort of Acapulco.
