The Felix you spoke of playing Jazz, is he a great big guy, cant remember his last name, about 60 years old? Used to play back-up for Carlos Santana? If so I lost track of him some yours ago and am glad he may still be around. He is world class and definatly worth a listen.

Don't forget about the collectiva buses that run very frequently North and South. We saved big money taking the bus from San Jose to Cabo and back. It was only $1.25 each way. The only bummer was the bus would only run until 10:00pm. So we were stuck getting a cab back to San Jose after a night in Cabo.

I would say Felix is in his late 40's and about 5'-8" tall medium build. He speaks almost no English. So I doubt it is the same guy, but I will ask. Jose is bald and sports a goatee. Very bohemian looking.

These guys - Los Hermanos Suaves- are very good. They are brothers and both are soft spoken Mexicanos. "Cool" is the best word to describe them. Jose plays base and Felix plays guitar. They play Bossa Nova, '60's stuff like Pipeline, Apache, DreamWalk, Walk Don't Run and all the old Jazz standards. They play at Cabo del Sol clubhouse for Sunday buffet and they play at the Hilton lounge Tuesday through Sunday evenings. They have cut a CD and we play it in the car.

I highly recommend them for a fun evening. All it will cost you is the price of a cerveza....or two or three.

One of my daughter's employees plays in a band with Carlos Santanas brother in the LA area. Carlos will often come by and jam with them. I am begging her to be a fly on the wall at one of those practice sessions.

Panga fishing

quote: If you're looking for La Paz area panga fishing, try staying at Casa Verde in La Ventana and David will set you up with a panga - maybe from Los Muertos.

This is probably more in my price range than the other sportfishing link in Cabo Last time I was in Cabo (12 yrs. ago) the had a pretty good sized panga fleet there also and the prices weren't bad at all.
