For bizarre, try Yeneka downtown.

We like Hacienda del Cortez, formerly Engleberts, for dog friendly, though usually we like to be walking distance to downtown. Unfortunately, the Hacienda was to be closed by now, then demolished for condos.

Anything come to mind between High end and bizarre?

Gardenias, as described by Natalie Ann. Mexican, clean, moderately priced.

Ate at La Pazta in March-- it was wonderful! Best thing to do in La Paz-- 1dinner there, and one at 3 virgenes.

We stayed at Mediteraneo, the hotel adjoining La Pazta recently. Liked it, but not a great value at $60.

Las Cabanas
ask for a room on the left side walking toward the pool/. much quieter...or is that more quiet....where is bajalera when we need her.
This is my favorite place to stay, if I dont have my Mexican mutts with me! still has the old baja feeling

Los Arcos price

"Another vote for Los Arcos Cabanas"

I haven't stayed there for many years but checked the prices when I walked by the hotel recently. They had the prices posted in the loby.
Approximately + - $120 U.S. for either a cabana or a deluxe room in the hotel. Probably negotiable depending on many variables. YMMV

An FM-3 gets you a substantial discount at Los Arcos.

I prefer the Los Arcos third floor overlooking the malecon. Great view overlooking the bay, especially at xmas when the sailboats have their lights on at night. Maybe a bit pricey but for a couple of days it's worth it.

Another good place is El Moro. They take dogs, usually.

My vote is for Los Arcos. I prefer the side facing into the courtyard, Malecon at night is very noisy. The food is good as are the Margaritas.

Can't comment on the cabana's as I haven't stayed there.

Both provide a fenced "guarded" parking lot. Didn't see a guard, but had no problems with our group of 3 motorcycles.

I'll be back for a visit in October!

Ken

View from the lobby facing out to the Malecon. Chairs are a nice place to nurse a beverage and enjoy the world going by.

You could write a philosophy treatise on that statement but, it would be wordless.

Bosh, an FM-3 is resident tourist status in Mexico. It means you live here, at least part time. Didn't mean to confuse, that info was for people who have them:saint:

Most places give you at least a 20% discount if you have a FM3. Wouldn't hurt to claim residency in Loreto and having forgotten your FM 3.:light::light::?::?::?::.
Worth a try if you have some larceny in your soul:P:P
All they can do is refuse and then it's time to raise a little hell:lol::lol::lol:

We stayed at the Casabuena towards the end of May / beginning of June this year and enjoyed it. Great parking inside their compound. They do discount for longer stays. Email Milton for more info.

Also stayed at the El Moro this year, 3 weeks in January and 4 in May. The rooms can be a little noisy depending on your neighbors. Mostly slamming doors. One night the management rented the pool area out for a teenage party that would "be over by 10PM". By midnight it really started to get going and got pretty loud. We did enjoy their restaurant. Great burgers and BLTs. Long walk to downtown but we did it at least once a day (all the exercise gave us an excuse to buy ice cream while in town!!)

I think the world is run by C- students.
