Well, it's 2012 and the jury is still out. Most believe that ULSD has not made it to Baja Sur. I would concur since my 2008 has a DPF and it acts up
after 4-5 tanks in Mulege. We add some lucas and it seems to help. The miners from Santa Rolsalia have had issues with the DPF clogging.
Shouldn\'t one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check or Sec.8 housing?
........... I had to pass one to earn it for them!

Welcome TomS
Sometimes it's confusing to find stuff on a site that one hasn't navigated much. Here's a little helpful hint that may benefit you:
There is a search link right below this site's page title "Baja Nomad". It helps at times....but many of us do indeed ask the same questions over and
over ......regardless :-) Welcome TomS

Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

I just recieved this note from Antonio at Baja Cactus, El Rosario

Hello Bob... ULSD is available all throughout northern Baja, including of course Bahía de Los Angeles and Jesús María. I hope this information helps.
Happy and safe travel..

I have a 2012 Super Duty with the Diesel 6.7 and travel frequently to South San Felipe. the truck has 12k miles on it now and has used Mexican fuel
about half the time.
I find that I am going through the D.E.F (diesel exhaust fluid, if so equipped) a lot quicker than it should. You probably need to top off your DEF
tank (5 gallon capacity) before crossing the border.
When the indicator comes on at the dash it tells you that you only have 500 more miles to go before refilling it. I buy it at the truck stops in the
2.5 gallons containers for $20 each. Some truck stops/gas stations have it at the pump and it's a lot cheaper like the Flyin' J at Erinburgh Arizona
and the 10 highway. The Ford dealers want about $35 for the 2.5 gallon quantity.
