How about some Stories from some of the Posters. Am sure we would all be interested and would Hope that it would turn out to be Nice and Easy.
This is Factual and is not meant to be Political in any way.
Why did I go to Baja for so many Years??
Living in Bishop Calif, hiking the Sierras, Fishing Amphitheater Lake at 11,000 Feet catching Crossbows, Towing Gliders into the Sierra Wave, Managing
an Office for GAB, Investigating Claims for Firemans Fund at all the Brothells in Western Nevada, enjoying the "Hot Tub' at Mamouth after a Great Day
of Skiing{Ski Patrol at Mamouth}??
Sister-in-Law gave me Ray Cannon's book for Christmas. Read the Book and could not beleive the Fishing was that good, so got into my Cessna and made
my first Trip.
I was in Love with the Sea of Cortez and the People of Loreto -On my first trip, changed my way of thinking as I realized, I needed to make money so
that I could go when I wanted. took nearly twenty years to get into that Position.{Several Career Changes}.
Another small consideration was the way the Culture was changing as the 60's and 70's and Social Engineering became Rampant.
Guess a little "Escapeism" came into Play.
Working in San Francisco during the Time of the "Flower Children", in Oakland during the time of Johnson's "EOA". I strived harder to reach my Goal of
Self-Employment.
Great Part of my Life!
Hope others will share their Stories.

And was the fishing that good?
I grew up fishing Southern California waters, and took over my dad's copy of Ray Cannon's "How to Fish the Pacific Coast." That, and a meeting at a
boat show booth, was my introduction to Ray Cannon. My Dad was in the boat biz and had boats at the boat shows, at the old Pan Pacific. Here's one of
his Skagit brand boats:
That's not my Mom on the boat.
Mom and Dad, and an Aunt and Uncle and and other friends traveled to Mexico to fish in the 1950s, and took me on their last trip in 1961. The fishing
was as good as Ray Cannon later said it was, in his Sea of Cortez book. You could catch these right off the little pier:

Great Post Don;
The Skagit also inspired the "Arkansaw Traveler" a very good Boat.
Yes Don the Fishing was that good from 1967 and in my Humble Opinion it is still Good-Just different.
Watching a Mile of large Yellowtail on top of the Water.
Watching kids catching 25 Lb. Yellowtail from the Pier at the Sportsman.
Watching a 1/4 Mile of Skipjack forming a 2 Foot Wall in a Feeding Frensy.
Fishing for Shark off of San Nicholas.
Catching Grouper off the Isla
Diving and Snorkleing with the Hammerheads
Yes it was good!!
