Really cool looking bug lingililingili! Nice shots too - it can be difficult getting good close-ups of bugs... ;D

gringorio: Not so hard when BMG is bugging him with a stick and makes him slow down long enough for a photo shoot!

Yes, the mystery is solved, and I appreciated looking at that site.

But your picture is way better than the pictures on that "professional" site.:yes:

Hope you find some of the other varieties that want their picture taken.

I have found that when taking pictures of bugs if I spray them with half a can of RAID first they tend to slow down and even stop so I can get some good shots and even from different angles. The only problem with this approach is if they have large antennae or feelers. They may droop after the application of the RAID for some reason. If that is the case, a simple application of clear nail polish and then straighten and/or extend them into the position you like.

You can have some fun with this making them look more interesting for your photos. Using this same technique on many bugs you can arrange them into different positions and scenarios like the famous scene of 6 c-ckroaches sitting around a table drinking beer and playing poker.

Use your imagination and be creative. We want to see the photos!

BajaGringo: That half can of Raid slows them down because it KILLS THEM.
Sorry, I didn't mean to yell.

Really???

I was wondering why they became so compliant and allowed me to form them into different poses and positions for my photos. Now I feel really bad. Especially for this one because I think it was probably a very rare species of c-ckroach. I could swear I heard it scream "Nooooooooo...." before I sprayed it with my Extra Strength RAID.

My bad...

Nah, I don' t think so. It does seem like an awful way to die though. Seems like a swatter or a big sized 13 1/2 foot shoe would be better! BMG is my pest controller and a darn good job he does at it too!

I vote for lethal injection, yes, you should have BMG try that.

Death would be quick, painless, and the bug still intact. Then you could use a little shellac and preserve them as garden art.

jd - Here you go. One slightly used Lethal Injection Syringe that was used on my La Baja Poll. I think it could kill two things before it is disposed of.
