Consider yourself on report, Mister, for bad language. We all know what you really meant by using the word, SNIT. Thought you would sneak it past,
huh? Well the thought police are on duty and you will be dealt with in a most harsh way.

Influence???? We've never met in person, but I've gotten the impression that Hose A is his own person & makes his own decisions. I respect him
enough to honor the fact that I believe he made the best decision for himself & his family. I'm sad for what I feel to be a loss for the site
& it's members, but he wouldn't be a man of strong principles if he didn't follow his own head & heart. Wishy-washy people aren't typically
good Baja material!

David please! I am unwashed............still!
You are in good company here as many of us have had others push our/their buttons. Heck I bug a few folks with regularity but very rarely have I
reported anything.
Call it anything you want but pushing a button so some god-like figure can help you relieve yourself is pretty pathetic if the reasons are silly.
I wouldn't expect you to hit the button if I called you a private dick but some actually would. Don't kid yourself, the mod was quite tired of all
the tattling(reporting). I know that for a fact.
What bothered me recently was the way a few reacted when I simply replied in a thread that I'd like to meet a certain Nomad when he comes into our
restaurant.
Why would people not like that? Well ask those that push the button. THAT is the type of stupid requests a mod gets.
Some folks just cannot resist the temptation and I doubt he appreciated the constant whining from a few.
But doggon it, he will be missed. On both sides of the board.
Ahhhhhh, now I feel cleansed.

over members when they might need a little "cooling off" time.
Quote: | ...the Report Button... That feature is there for a reason; I believe a great portion of the logic of it's existence is to make Doug and any other
moderator's life easier so they don't have to read each & every word in each & every post. It's a helpful tool for them, and I personally have
NEVER seen either Hose A nor Doug complain about anyone using the Report Button; to the contrary, I have only seen them request it be used.
|
That's just it. With only one or two moderators, we simply can't read everything that's posted to the board every day - or any day
for that matter.
I see frequent "complaints" about certain posts, or certain people's posts that have been "allowed" to stand - like we approved it because it's still
posted - when in fact we never saw it, and no one ever pointed it out to us.
If you think it's an issue, let us know. If you haven't done that, don't bother complaining to the general populace about how unfair, how biased,
how... whatever... the moderating here is. That's only being part of the problem - not the solution.
I don't think I have any real complaints about anyone's use of the report button for the past six years here. Having said that, keep this in mind:
Quote: | ...it becomes the moderators responsibility to make the final decision on how to handle each individual situation. We don't always necessarily agree
with the outcome, but they don't delete anything just because a post was reported. | FYI: We probably agree
there's an issue - and take action - with 90%+ of the posts that have (at least recently) been reported.
Regards,

| Bruce, I do not believe this is an
accurate reflection of what's been seen/experienced.
What makes the moderator's job easy are considerate individuals who take the other readers/participants here into consideration with the remarks
they're posting - as opposed to those who decide to make inconsiderate personal attacks upon the others here.
That's when the moderator's job can become quite time consuming - and a great burden.
A more minor issue - but still a problem - is members' consideration of posting to the correct forum for their topic. Mostly this is people who will
post to the General Discussion forum because it has the most views - when they should've posted in another forum. Quite often items are posted to the
General Discussion that should be with Questions & Answers, or in the classifieds forums for commercial purposes, etc.
So Bruce, as I sometimes like to comment....
Play nice here, or don't play at all. How's that sound to you?

Legs I’m sorry for any confusion. I just thought you knew him. That’s all I was referring too. If he does come back it will be because he does have
strong principles. Heck I left once but come back and believe me there is not a wishy-washy bone in me. I was genuinely sorry I cause a problem and
saw the error of my ways.

This thread is pointless now. I doubt his decision one way or the other will be swayed by further discussion on the matter (if he even was looking on
which he isn't). Why not give it a rest and move on.
