Don and I stayed at Lorimar just last week. Prices on the board still quote old and new rooms. The new ones are just $380 pesos-- still a great
palce ofr the price.

Boy oh boy,
Lorimar,
last time we stayed there the room was $ 3.95. But that was in the 70's. Very pleasant place, even then, and a hop, skip and jump from Applebee's.
Forgot to mention that in those days the Los Arcos annex was $11.00.

The monkey is at the Yaneka, Ken.
All the critters at the Pekin are still alive
Actually we didn't see any critters at the Pekin |
OMG you are absolutely right Paula. Sorry for the senior moment and thanks for
setting the record straight.

Hi Pearl, We used to stay at the Lorimar, It it nice, simple easy walking.. We now usually stay at CasaBuena. It is mentioned earlier in the thread.
55/nt. incuded simple breakfast and a help yourself set-up. Also has a computer for you use which can be handy. Milton and SuSu are very nice. There
is also a pool and nice areas to sit...Great parking behind a wall. It is a hacienda style place. I found it on www.vrbo.com It is a rental website, covers the whole planet. There are also a couple of other reasonable options for La Paz in there. Have fun

Is Casa Buena in walking distance from downtown and the malecon? I've looked at the website, and it looks really nice, but I like being downtown in
La Paz.

We really enjoy walking. It is probably 15-20 minute walk to the middle of the malecon. Casabuena is a few blocks back. We usually walk to
dinner/c-cktail and take a taxi back. I always tell the driver the cross street intead of the name of the place. It is definetly a little less
convienent then the lorimar or Los Arcos. but also much less dinero. If you decide to stay there, see if they will tell you the room# before you get
there incase they are not home. They went to the movies last time we were there. That way you can let yourself in. Have fun

The walk from CasaBuena to the beginning of the malecon is a little over 1/2 mile.
Then another 3/4 of a mile to stroll down the malecon to 16 de Septiembre.
I think the world is run by C- students.

We like the Lorimar also - on Bravo 2 blocks up from the malecon. Ask for a new room - they run just under 400 pesos.
We have also stayed recently at the Baja Paradise Pension at Allende and Madero and the rooms run from 450.00 to 550.00. I would also recommend this
place. It's 2 blocks up from the malecon but high enough on the hill that you can have a view of the bay from the second floor. It also has a small
outdoor kitchen where you can cook yourself a meal if you are so inclined. It's within easy walking distance to downtown.
