Lyn,
Maybe you know this, but the best general road map for Baja can be obtained from your local BCAA office....if you are not a member (free maps for members)...ask if any of your friends are...

ATM's are the way to get money rather than travellers cheques...maybe cash can only be withdrawn from chequing accounts (so said my bank, but not 1000% sure about that detail)...PIN needs to be 4 digits...

Stay clear of anybody wearing a Baja Nomads T-shirt or having a "Viva Baja" or "Got Baja" bumper sticker as they will only be way too friendly and slow your trip down by chatting, providing "best taco stand" tips, or even inviting you over for their version of the "best margarita"...

The ferry out of La Paz seems to sail more regularly than the one out of Santa Rosalia...and it is a bigger ship so less chance of turning green if windy/wavey....vehicles need different registration papers (permits) for mainland Mexico than the Baja.

:light:

Don't believe everything you think....

I admit I have downed a few good brews at the Waddling Dog when I anchored out near there...brings back wet memories....and craig smith does ring a bell.
You should swing by and pick up jorgie...he's a riot! and knows the road to asuncion very well.
