The exact same thing happend to La Fonda a few years ago, sealed the front entrance and it never reopened as it's original self. They just simply relocated it to the back of thier house and kicked the union out. I think that's what happened.

I took the photo yesterday. They are still closed. We've been here for a little over 2 weeks and it has been closed longer than that. They are missing the Christmas crowd. We usually have Christmas dinner with friends in the restaurant, but this year it's Club Marlin. The way it's boarded up it may be a long one. Lots of rumors.

This is what is so difficult to understand for me, one of the better hotels, bars and restaurants can't make the formula work. Nothing makes sense in Mexico. If Los Arcos can not figure out how to function and get tourists from the airport to the door and succeed, labor issues and all, primarily due to low traffic how can anyone succeed in tourism which is supposedly the number one business of Mexico?

Just doesn't make sense... Though I can see it, experience it and its a fact, Los Arcos is closed mainly due to lack of business traffic and costs of labor.

When did the flags go up?

It's quite common to flag after a place closes. Especially if the owners left owing the employees back pay, bonus and/or retirement. It just happened here with the Palm Grill. The owner walked out just weeks before Christmas aguinaldos were due. One employee had 10 years of retirement coming.

Nice, John. Hope you have a very merry Christmas.
