There is a fairly new eatery in San Juanico called the El Burro which of course features the burro. Here he is finishing off the day with a drink at
the establishment.

I saw that burro pound a modelo three weeks ago. Pretty funny. We ate the burro every day we were in town.

can anyone clarify the legend that burritos are so called cause they really were made out of burro meat, way back when ?

a buddy told me the food is called a burrito after the animal, "when it comes walking into town it carries many things on its back."

Along those same lines, the explanation that made the most sense to me was that the Burro is actually named for its burden - what it was carrying was
the important part, not the poor beasty itself. And that the food burrito is slang for small package. Actually nothing to do with the critter.
Or maybe I just made that up cuz its easier to swallow.
