Some local wanted the storefront, so Latitude 22 was kicked out. They are now up a side road next to the electric plant by Costco. City wouldn't let
them put advertising on the highway, so it"s hard to find. I think they also dropped the name & it's now just the "Roadhouse". Fun place when the
piano man is on!

Conception Bay's Painted Canyon
1959 Gardner expedition. JW Black (Blackjack) in hat.

Almost 50 years later you still feel a step back in time. A great & haunted place to camp.

There's a new sheriff in town...
A great new tortilla enterprise just a couple doors from Mely's in Mulege.
Personally, I am off tortillas forever. Last week I fell through the earth's crust.

Only Baja has outhouses like these.

What a nice way to encourage fishermen to greater success.

Great photo of...
...some 2x4 Mexican 'Masking Tape' during the re-paint of the memorial above the Bahia...
I've stopped there several times over the years, and once watched several Dolphins right below us in the shallows, as they frolicked in the clear,
green waters...such things one never forgets...
According to my clock...anytime is \'BAJA TIME\' & as Jimmy Buffett says,
\"It doesn\'t use numbers or moving hands It always just says now...\"

"I am off tortillas forever"...can't happen
side note:
there are two kinds of corn tortillas in mulege
sanchez and norma
the sanchez are the thicker
the norma are the thinner ones
norma tortillas make better chips
they melt in your mouth
the local restruants use the sanchez tortillas
as the chips last longer (less crushing damage)

Mike, I confess to an addiction to photography..and fishing.
A side story about things that never leave your hand:
As a break from the motorhome, we recently stayed in a motel the other night somewhere in Montana. I'm also a tv news addict and like to fall asleep
watching tv, using the timer feature, and always have control of the remote! Never, never give up possesion of the remote.
As we were leaving through the motel lobby the next morning the desk manager looked up and said "Goodbye, and have a nice trip."
I waved with my hand and said, "Bye... thanks"
The manager quickly added..."Sir, would you mind leaving that remote?"

HURRICANE NORBERTO - OCTOBER 2008
Last year's Hurricane Norberto turned out to be The Storm That Wasn't. I hope Jimena becomes the same..but it doesn't look likely. Best wishes and
Godspeed to all in harm's way.
Hurricane Norberto...we sat outside, had some hurricane c-cktails, and renamed Norberto, 'El Fizzler'.

Had Resurrection of this thread to post some unclassified photos..
We've roared with laughter many times at this April photo of me, Co-pilot, & compadre Randy. We call it,
"Dumb and Dumber meet Dumbest."

Can you think of a good name for a creature looking like this?
.
.
ahh..what's better than springtime in Baja?

Mas o Menos?
Thanks Linda, I'm glad you like these photos. When possible, it's one of my favorite pastimes to take and post them
on Baja Nomad.
Happy viewing over there in Florida.
.
Calm on this day...but a storm is threatening from the south.
.
Photo of hurricane over Baja courtesy of NOAA weather imagery.
Very high winds make for dangerous conditions...Loreto malecon.
.
...but, regardless, there will always be some who MUST FISH. MacyMan offshore near Wilbur's Hole.
.
Even though this small sloop was trailered, it did not escape the storm's fury.
One benefit of the hurricane in the Bay...lots of driftwood for campfires. Santispac beach.
.
The Calm after the Storm. Shrine of Conception Bay.
.
The All-Clear signal.
Hurricane-wise, let's hope this year is a non-event.
