Just saw it in La Paz at 5pm on Colosio turning into Forjadores going towards the University. I was driving my kids to play soccer just behind them. Three young guys in their 20s onboard. I stopped at TRANSITO police on Forjadores and tried to point the truck to to the police. Problem is the police was sooooooo sloooooowwww that first they wanted me to describe the truck , give them the plates (that I remembered only the first 3 letters) so doubt they moved their ass to stop the truck down the road. Anyway the people that stole the truck seem pretty dumb driving around in La Paz with such a rare vehicle that you should have a good chance to get it back.

I own an '87 FJ-60 (2F engine)...the last year of stick shift and carburetion.

We who own Landcruisers know they are on a level all their own above the other Toyota trucks.

It hurts when another Cruiser owner loses theirs.

Is there a way for you to make it to La Paz and ID your Cruiser ?

BTW...we who are Cruiser owners should get together for a "Cruiser only" Baja trip.

Have to wonder what would happen if the owner just jumped in and drove off with it, bypassing the policia. Would love to see the faces on the thieves when they realized their stolen vehicle was restolen, so to speak! :bounce:

OMG!!!!

Nomads-this is truly amazing.
Due to the watchful eye of Aldo... he found the Landcruiser parked on the street this morning in La Paz. The police came and have taken it to their yard. I cannot thank all of you enough who have been keeping a lookout for it.
I didn't think we'd ever see it again.
We Nomads truly have a great network of amigos.
Gracias por todo.

todostim Now the jeep will be in a impound yard and you will have to pay a daily rate so would be important to get it out of there as quickly as possible. Also for other reasons!

I passed by at 2.45pm and the car was still at corner of victoria and madero. A policeman waiting in the area had alredy stopped one person trying to enter into the car. One more was chased by the police while trying to escape on another car. Policeman is waiting the tow truck now.............
