how much is a fathom?
i am not a boater so cannot fathom it.

i am serious - sorry for the bad pun.
so - mariners amongst you - ??
what is one and what are they derived from?

I seem to remember a fathom as being 6 feet. Oceanography, Fullerton College, 1980. Darn, that was a looong time ago!:yes: Don't remember the origin. The memory is the second thing to go, and I can't remember the first!

I love this place, I'm usually the youngest one bellied up to the bar! Problem is, it is not the years, but the mileage! The three M's have taken their toll. Marines, motocross, mechanicing. I'll be 51 in a couple months! Hope that doesn't make anybody feel old!!!:lol:

Wow , Pescador! Those are some big forkies. I better train some this week or they'll kick my...
I'm sticking with the plan.
I'll head for San Bruno to fish San Marcos for the big yellowtail. If the weather is right.
If not I'll hope that B. Asuncion has good weather and try for the last Yellowfin of the year again.
I'll be making my decision at the Vizcaino Pemex station!:coolup:

great day on the water...air temps around 80 degrees...water 70...targeted yellowtail and a huge sail fish swam right in front of the diver when he was filming...woohoo

the weather is still perfect...light winds and lots of nice yellowtail and still a few tuna hanging around for ya bucky.
