If it's too windy and you want to explore come by Punta Chivato and I'll take you all around in my UTV. Maybe surf fish too. Got a camper that'll sleep 3. Drive to the fence, Right to the water, house on the far left.

Actually, Fishbuck, that should work well, since my daughter is here, Rigo could go with you guys and that would work well. Looks like weather and tide is great.

Until you have pulled on some of these November/December yellowtail there is no comparison. I have fished both areas extensively and there is no competition, at all.

Russ, I came by the other day to try to catch you but you were gone. We rode 4 wheelers from San Bruno to Chivato on both roads, and they really took a hit. We also did the outside of Bahia Concepcion last Saturday which was a good 70 mile trip. We need to get a trip planned now that I have a new 4 wheeeler.

Well hopfully the weather is right.
Packing today. Don't need much. It's a short trip just for the fishing.
Probably stop at Turners Outdoors Saturday morning and then go!
How are you guys fishing down there Pescadore.
Dropping jigs or bait? Trolling?
What should I bring. I have 1 trolling rod with 50lb and a Shimono 2-speed. Think I'l buy another for Christmas.

Haven't been to Chavato for maybe 15 years. Use tp fly in to the ''Old" Hotel.
Wasn't many houses there then.
You near the runway?

First place south of the runway on Shell Beach. The hotel is now $300/night min. But it is beautiful. New owner is BAD! But he still gets at least one guest a week:smug: There are around 400 homes here now most on Shell Beach. But only a few full timers.

400 houses!? Whoa baby!
I don't think there was more than a dozen houses last time I was there! Maybe 15.
And the hotel was $55/night. And it was more beautiful. And the owners were very cool.
How's the runway and fishing these days?

I got here in '92 and Bill Alverado had just been booted out by the ejido. From there the hotel & restaurant went down hill (surprise!). The ejido sold it to an Italian who has spent a ton of money and it is a first class place now.
Fishing also in nothing like before. There are a few pangeros still trying to make it with hand lines but most have changed to nets so very slim pickings now for the sports fisherman. From the shore you'll be lucky to get anything to take home. The good news is it is still a wonderful place and the runway is in great shape. The road in is still ugly but passable in a 2x4. There is a rumor that the camp beach maybe fixed up and open to camping again.

I have figured out that there are 2 places almost exactly the same distance away, that can have really good fishing... depending on the weather. 1 on the Pacific and 1 on the Cortez.
And... I don't have to make a decision until I'm at the Vizcaino Pemex!
Which is 2 days drive. So that is when I will know if the weather and fishing are good. And each spot is about 2 hours from Vizcaino.
Jeez... do I have to spell it out for you!;)

Sorry I missed the boat this morning.
I hope those guys find the fish!
I'm still planning to roll out of here today so please keep the reports coming.
I should make it to SanQ by this evening and some place fishy by Sunday afternoon.

Shari, What is the afternoon report? We got yellowtail down here in L.B., but the little boat won't go out far enough for tuna in December.

Okay Shari. Thanks for the report.
Looks like I won't leave until tomorrow (Sunday) morning. And my son decided he's not going too.
Oh well I can travel a bit quicker alone. I'm a little disappointed.
The weather got good up here. It was overcast but is now clear and almost warm. No wind.

Yeah it was like that here most of the day.
Late afternoon sun with no breeze so it feels warm if you stand in the right spot.
Big swell coming in?
