Mood: After 34 years. Still in love w/ my wife

Sitting here in West Valley Phoenix area. suddenly blinds started moving left to right. Then felt it through my chair. Wife was outside and came in
and said, "what the heck was that". Said the water pond on our 'water feature' started "rolling". Called our friends in Yuma, said was very
noticeable there. He was afraid his new flat screen on the wall would come down. They were out doors at the time. Hope San Felipe came out o.k.

(Edit: Friend said he ran outside to the street where he watched his house move around on its foundation)

Felt it here in Irvine pretty good. Heard the epicenter was 20 miles south of Mexicali.

Weird. You must have been sitting in a rocking chair, or dancing, noting that Phil felt it in Phoenix.

CNN Coverage
Tuned in to find them talking to someone at LAX.
Figuring that wasn't local enough, I guess, they went to someone in BAKERSFIELD. She said it wasn't that big a Quake.
The News Boob on CNN just said "I've heard it was felt as FAR AWAY as ARIZONA.
WOW.
No scheisse, senor.
Ten minutes after the quake, the water was still sloshing around. The wife was outside and she thought the 500-gallon tank (3/4 full) was going to
come down. Surprisingly, no detectable cracks or leaks thus far.
It was a LONG Quake.
Now, CNN is back to their "Tower" cam at LAX.

I don't think they're supposed to do that...even in an earthquake. I think he has a good lawsuit.

Rocking and Rolling
Here on the oceanfront.
Yikes Squared! There was aserious bout thirty seconds of swaying, but nothing fell down and the dogs didn't even get excited.
Thank goodness the epicenter is inland, so no tsunami tsu come.
This morning I watched a news segment interview with a seismologist who had just returned from Chile. He reported that concrete block buildings with
sufficient re-bar inside the block survived the quake with little-to-no damage regardless of age.
Guess what our house is made of and why am I less freaked out now.

I'm going to warn my neighbors to be on the lookout for church groups in the area looking for kids to take to a better life.

At about 15:08 the lamps start to swing and the wind chimes sounded sweetly here in Gonzaga Bay. Couldn't feel it in our feet but it certainly was a
quake.
