Good for you, Howard. Keep it clean.

So far, so good. Very refreshing.

What a relief it is to see a post that is barren of the political rancor that permeates too many threads on this Baja oriented site.
Howard, you are an example for all of us to follow and I'm nominating you for "Dalai Lama of BajaNomad."

Municipality
001 Ensenada
002 Mexicali
003 Tecate
004 Tijuana
005 Playas de Rosarito

San Felipe is in 'Mexicali', just north of Laguna Percebu is the border with 'Ensenada'.

WOW....I didn't realize Playas was a Municipality. I wonder how that tax base was removed from TJ.

Great insight with the map. Is there any signs or markers indicating the "border". I'm one of those guys who likes to point out those details.

I spotted a somewhat new marker on Hwy. 5, at the Mexicali/ Ensenada border... south of San Felipe, just a ways north of Rancho (Laguna) Percebu... I have seen another map that indicated the border was Arroyo Huatamote... which is the big arroyo just south of the 'Valley of the Giants' cactus road... south side of the Punta Estrella mountain.

sorry, you are right in terms of territories but I was trying to compare municipalities (based on census data for Canada) and the entire Yukon territory is a single census area (closest thing to a Mexican municipality), while Nunavut (largest territory) and Northwest (2nd largest territory) are broken down into smaller census areas.:(:(

So, if I accept the title that you propose, would people off the street say "Hello Dalai” or refer to me as Mr. Lama?

Meaning no disrespect to the Dalai himself but I do think I can get use to the new title!

Also, if accepted, will I be taxed by some government agency for this mark of respect? ("I am not trying to get political, really!")

Hello all, While on spring break down in the South Campos one of the sixteen year old girls in our group ran out of gas in her quad while near the poblado. She was on the dirt path that runs parralel to the main highway and riding with four others but she was last in line and no one looked back until they got back to camp. The parents were all at a campo further south but the girl started walking back to our campo further north. Along came one of the Ensenada policeman assigned to the area and tried to help. He ended up giving her a ride back to the campo, helping her with the gas for the quad and giving her a ride back making sure she was safe. We then arrived as he was driving off to check on her. I wanted to applaud the police officer as they receive enough bad press all the time. This happened last Thursday the 8th and if anyone has any idea on how to contact his superior to praise him, I would like to do so. Hasta!

yes, cops often do their jobs quite well,... but problem is that they also supplement their poor pay by fleecing the public

Not all dude.............not all. I have been going to Mexico since 1971. Very few cops that I didnt think much of. Give the good ones credit, will ya?
