All have provided great resources and I thank you. With my spanish limiting me to ordering beer, filling my gas tank and finding out what species of fish is biting at the moment I was very thankful to learn Tailhunter sells them right in their store. Jonathan and Jill are great people, very helpful and I fot an up-to-date fishing report in the process.

Mitchman, when are you heading down? I'm here through the 12th.

How much extra was the license at the Tailhunter?
How much commission did you have to pay?

It is a simple question.
If you do not want to buy a license on the internet for any reason
then how much extra do you pay?
Is there a troll here?
Are you ashamed to tell us what you were charged?
Is the service free with drinks?
Is not this pretty straight forward question?

Read between the lines! You have obviously irritated enough people here, that you will be ignored or never given a straight answer. Be Gone!

I mean really Alan, would you rather go stand in a line at a government office, spend more time on the computer, or meet some nice people and get some local info? Oh, the nachos con carne asada rock!

The online site has been inaccessible for a couple of days...anyone had any success with the online service recently? Should we wait a couple more days or bite the bullet and send in the request to the San Diego office? I'm worried that the turn around won't be quick enough (we leave in 13 days !WOOT!)...where else would we be able to pick up a license in Baja if the online method isn't up and running?

Are you driving down thru San Diego? If so there are many stores that sell the licenses there. I have bought my last 2 there. I will soon need another. I think I have 1 month remaining.

The marina office at La Salina has them. I am pretty sure Squidco in San Diego does also. Try the tackle shop on the main drag in Ensenada. The Longfin in Orange, CA is where I get mine. Plenty of time, call them and Priority Mail. Are you going out on a boat? Shore fishing does not require a licence, if I'm remembering correctly:?:

For those that are seriously interested, they are available from several places in So. Cal as already mentioned, usually with a small commission of $5 or $10 and I have bought them at the insurance offices just before the border when buying my car insurance. They are also available online through www.discoverbaja.com and they will gladly mail them to you, so with 13 days before your trip you can get them in plenty of time. If you find yourself in La Paz, Jonathan at Tailhunter's has them available and I believe he is selling them at cost.

where is tailhunters located? anyone have a phone number?

I am heading to LP in the morning to pick up a new rear differential to replace my busted dana 60. Maybe I'll be able to pick up my license at the same time. I will reread this post to see if the number is already listed. If so, ignore my question.

I have gotten 0 dodo's a day the last few days as the wind has been howling and the swell is up. Hopefully things will get back to normal soon.

The good thing is that I am sitting on 2 1-gal ziplock freezer bags stuffed with smoked dodo. and another is in the freezer!!
