Don't want this to seem like a hijack, but has there been any word on the group that was abducted in Acapulco?

@ Jesse, the last paragraph says that they did NOT set up roadblocks right away. If this is wrong - great news !!

I understand there has been no ransom demand, so I assume the motive in kidnapping her was sexual. This is hard to say, but it is likely she has been violated and perhaps killed, buried in the desert somewhere, and her disappearance will remain a mystery unless someone talks. There are times when I desperately want to be wrong.

Those negative kind of thoughts should not be displayed on a public forum.
Should keep those to yourself.

Seems as though Kidnapping has become so prevalent lately. Perhaps it's being reported more rather than being handled privately.

I think you know that thought is in the back of all our minds bajajazz, just not a point we want to discuss at this time, and hopefully never have to.

bajajazz,
Vandenberg's point is that your post was not socially decent or welcome. Family and friends may be reading this thread. They would be caused further pain by reading your negativistic, gruesome assumptions.
The kind-hearted and decent thing to do is to edit/delete your post. Others should refrain from quoting it, and Vandenberg should then delete the quote.
When there is no need to post anything during/after a tragedy, it is better to post nothing, unless you have something positive to say.
Over on the rock/ice climbing forums, that is generally accepted practice. Perhaps we are more used to dealing with tragic circumstances.
So, do you have a kind heart? The first time you were called out, you responded with sarcasm. Perhaps you could think it over and try a different response, instead of defending an indefensible position.

Perhaps this subject does need to be changed in the interest of civility. Allow me to begin by saying your statement above is absurd.
Rock and ice climbing tragedies more severe than a national insurgency which claims an untold number of lives on a daily basis using the most gruesome methods imaginable??
At least the climbers are dealing with a known danger and have a choice.
