Thanks Paulina... do you (or any Nomad) have a good link to the Weatherman Radio (Bob Steinberger)? The one I found does not want to stay on my pc... causes it to crash like a virus.

Okay... just checked the maps (north and south now)... The Trophy Trucks are between San Ignacio and La Purisima... the fastest has just passed San Juanico (Scorpion Bay), and our son's pit Team TSCO #9 is in SECOND PLACE south of San Ignacio Lagoon area... his speed was 96 mph.

The Trophy Trucks have caught up to the motorcycles who are also in the San Juanico area.

Looking at the slowest class Class 11 (pure stock VW beetles), the leader is in Calamajue Canyon and the others are between there and San Felipe.

This is about 10:45 pm.

VIVA MEXICO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'LL BE WEARING MY VILDOSOLA SHIRT ALL DAY!
MAYBE EVEN SOME PANTS.
Proud moment for Mexico, we just won the super bowl of Baja California!

6:58 DIRTnewz: 19:00:04 is the elapsed time of Tavo and Gus Vildolsola which will give them not only the SCORE Trophy Truck WIN but the Overall 4 wheel vehicle win as well!!!

Average speed 55.8 mph faster than 2006 when Andy McMillin and Robby Gordon won this race

6:55 DIRTnewz: still no signs of Robby Gordon who is running in second here from the finish. Team Vildolsola are the first Mexican National team to claim the Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 WIN!!!

Mike, I had Weatherman audio, and three computers fired up with split screens: Nomad/RDC/BFG/DirtNewz on two and IRC tracking on the third. Crazy!

PS You know we have a nice little regional airport just a few miles west of us.

We made an emergency trip to Sta.Rosalia thursday evening and it was so cool being in the middle of the race...not much traffic because everybody was set up in their pits...which were really neat to see all along the highway between Vizcaino & San Ignacio...BIG PARTY!!! Then again in the race on the way home yesterday with all the broke down trucks limping around into pits.

I can tell ya, all the mexicanos are VERY happy with the winner!!!! We tried to find a mechanic open to change shocks and they were all closed or real hungover!!!
