LWPA,
My experience w/ Walmart in Rosarito is that the produce is not as good as Wmart in Ensenada. I've only shopped WM/Rosarito 7 or 8 times, so it could have just been my timing.

Commercial Mex has improved imho in Rosarito and Ensenada.

Overall, Bajanomad site has a lot of info that can help you. Try the SEARCH function, just below the Nomad log at the top of the page.

Best wishes on your new home and have fun.

Thanks to all for the information. We are excited about spending a lot more time exploring all of Baja, an area we love.

CostCo used to be name brands in bulk at attractive prices, now most everything is available (or only offered) in their Kirkland brand. The original CostCo (Price Club) on Morena in San Diego has a chocolate shop that's not to be missed. The Chula Vista CostCo has a currency exchange booth that is also not to be missed. One good thing about the Mexico (TJ) Costco's is you can use a Visa/Mastercard instead of just AMX.

I learnd from both Visa and Amex that whenever a charge is made outside the USA, they had approx. 3% foriegn transaction fee. If you use your codtco csrd issued at the store you patronize, there is no additional charge.
