I'm not questioning that there is that much dorado in the oceans, Cypress. I'm questioning where this figure that is supposedly crossing the border is coming from. Is he accusing ICE of corruption? Ignorance? Derelection of duty?

The "bycatch" loophole is large enough to legally drive many truckloads of dorado through the border crossings.

That's what Diane Hunag thought, oops.

That's messed up. I guess that it's easier prosecuting small time seafood importers than Wall Street kleptocrats, after all, it all pays the same.

"I dont think following the truck along the Mexican "interstate" is very dangerous. You notice, though, that he did not actually follow it to the border itself. That might have been dicey; stuck behind them in line, while videotaping."

I have to respectfully disagree Hook.

The same cartel smugglers that smuggle drugs also smuggle every other type of contraband and people across the border. They have undoubtedly been alerted to the gringo with the camera and "evidence against them". These people have killed police officers, soldiers and politicians in broad daylight in very public places without being apprehended, forcing a car off the road somewhere between Guymas and the border would be comparatively easier.

Not "undoubtedly". Your statement presupposes that the video of the loading and transporting of the fish occurred AFTER the interviews. That's not necessarily the case in shooting video. Much is shot out of the edited sequence.

I like these “dorados” better, and they are delicious.

It seems to me, from the documentary, that the US government is waiting on a letter from Mexico stating that Dorado are a protected species and only then will they enforce The Lacey Act.
An interesting sidenote: Somali fishermen are hauling in big catches now. Commercial fishers are afaid to fish the waters because of the pirates.
Salmon season will be open this year in Nor Cal after a several year moritorium.
