How do I get back to San Diego? Baja Angel won't let me stay in Mulege I am affraid!

Roger,
I just did this trip last month ago starting in CSL following 15N once in the states to 191 into Boozeman(my college town), hung out there for a week
and did the Jellystone thing, then hopped on 90 and went to Seattle for 3 weeks and then back down to CSL. Roughly 7000 miles of driving.
It is an awesome trip and someone should take him up on his offer. The elk are buggling, the wolves/bears are fattening up for the winter, the crowds
are down as are the bugs, and if you head west after MT the salmon are running.
However I am happy to be out of a car!

Indeed, you had a grand trip!
And so have we since leaving Baja.
Driving from Conception Bay, BCS and following the Pacific coast from San Diego thru Oregon to Cape Flattery, Washington...ferry to BC, then across
southern Canada to Saskatchewan to Minnesota to ND to Montana..then back southwest across the midwest to San Diego and ..well, you get the picture. I
can acquire half of Mobil Oil if I redeem all my gas fill coupons at once...I'ze jist a lil ol' corporate raider, I is!
'That said' ..(oh, I'm bad, alrighty)...I want to correct the assumption you have given about my current rideshare/convoy
request.
That trip across the Great West has already been driven...
...it's over..done with ..finito...in San Diego safe and sound.
It was a great 7-mile high plane ride for me..and the person in the Dodge had a ball sightseeing thru spacious skies Montana, ND amber waves of
grain...some of Utah's purple mountainsides ...to end up at San Diego's shining sea.
Yup..that's a done deal.
NOW my objective on this thread is...
...to get the Dodge and/or the motorhome from San Diego to Mulege as promptly as possible.
Either in convoy or separetely..machts nicht to me...but it's always better fun to convoy, enjoy a cold one together around a nice desert campfire,
and share it's warmth over some strong morning coffee.
I will throw in a bonus of one case of Pacifico .......
...collectable in Mulege.

Roger,
Does your pickup have room in the bed for my motorcycle? If so I would consider drivng it to Mulege for you and riding back. Just spent two weeks
down there but am always up for another ride. I am 300 miles north of San Diego but could meet you there.

My Dodge 2500 has a full length box...8ft..but it also has a topper on it. See photo.
I am assuming you want to haul it upright? I can measure the inside height and let you know here manana. Not to worry...we'll get it done.
Right now I have to go Trick or Treating...scare the bee-jeebers outta some little ducklings!! boo!

However, what happened to my fishing boat? (I'd leave my mother-in-law before leaving that boat!! Hey...come to think of it, I haven't noticed her

There are 3 items in this convoy equation.
-35ft motorhome
-22ft boat/trailer
-22ft full-size pickup.
Triple towing with 2 vehicles and 1 boat/trlr? That would be an 'interesting' tow package for sure, not to mention illegal.
Although I do frequently do tow something similar that is legal...as shown here at Lac La Ronge, Sask.
PU, fifth wheel, boat/trlr = 75ft (the legal max in most areas I travel)
Back to your good-intended suggestion, Jake: Towing a heavy diesel pickup behind the motorhome over all the steep grades, plus the desert heat would
tear up the motorhome's tranny and overheat/ruin the engine in short order. Indeed, if such a thing were attempted (which I would not) the pickup has
a higher towing capacity than the motorhome. A 2500 Cummins can tow 16,000lbs...and mine has for mucho mil miles.

Message to KurtG....Kurt, just measured the clearance from bed-box to ceiling of topper. 41 inches...not enough for your upright
motorcycle, I fear?
Now...IF I owned a cycle-trailer ....or could use/rent one for a one-way trip?
sigh....Getting problematic, isn't it? (..making matters worse, last night's wee drams are shorting out my synapse signals right now.)

Maybe an investment in a motorcycle carrier on the rear of the motorhome? That would increase the population of Nomads that could help.

Yes, the bike just wouldn't fit with the camper shell on your pickup. I'll just have to do another bike round trip later in the month.

I dont know if this is a Lame idea or not
but you might contact the Transportation dept of La Mesa RV.
they have many part time drivers that move inventory around the country, most are retired and with clean driving records, ask to talk to the manager
and maybe he can put you in contact with some drivers. maybe offer a day or 2 of fishing
like I said most are retired and looking for a little fun and some thing to do

Muchas gracias, amigo...just talked to La Mesa RV and called 2 possible drivers..both of whom are on current hauling trips for hire. Close, but no
cigar! Thanks anyway, as I will keep those names, numbers for future use. As always, Nomads is a great source of help and info.
I have 2 days left to find a driver/s-companion-whatever.
I am lifting the 'No Live Chickens' condition.

another idea
this time of the year in Yuma the snowbirds come in by the thousands, you might try a Ad in Craigs list here,
snowbirds are always looking for some thing to do, and this might be an adventure for them.
