I could be in error, but I think that the majority of the cans get shipped to the far east (China, Japan). The co-ops appear to keep just a few.
I personally have found some in BA, Bahia Tortugas, La Bocana and Punta Abreojos.
The regular grocery stores do not carry them because of their expense, and therefore the locals are unable to afford such luxury.

Muchas gracias, Diana & John. Look forward to another trip.
I just found out that my "cardioversion" will be done on June 20th, with a follow-up diagnosis the next week.

Udo, yes - what a bummer that we missed you ..... Les was up a the other house (one minute headed north of us) with the little geo tracker we use day to day and I was upstairs with the phone turned off and really sick :(

next time for sure - you areinvited to lunch and again, the pens and pads were absolutely fantastic donations.

Our local co-op store always has cans of abalone and YT and oysters

If you have any questions about cardio-versions, head right back south and talk to Les. We spent a year dealing with his irregular heartbeat and now, thank God, he has been fine for a couple years. We dealt with the issue in Poland, in England and finally back in San Diego where it got FIXED !

Come visit La Bocana

You have to make the trip to Punta Abreojos, Woody. What an awesome coastline. However, 4X4 is a must for tracks to the beach sand. The entire road from BA to Punta ABreojos is very doable in any type of car or truck. It's about 65 miles and only about 500 feet total of washboard. Helps to have the tires lowered to 15 or 20 psi. We had ours at 18 psi on the FJ Cruiser.

The shell beach in San Hipolito was awesome! We could have spent the entire day picking through shells.
