maybe you can do a live "chat" with them ???? Using facebook or gmail, the response is instantaneous and that might be more viable for them.
good luck.

charge. Even when the equipment is out of the 5 year warranty. For me they have been excellent. cj didn't say if his controller was an MX 60 or the
newer FM series, but I have no doubt that Outback will fix it, probably at no charge other than what it costs to send it back.

so what is the phone number and address i send it
i just looked at mine today in the garage
i can have it in the usa in a week or two for shipping
ill go to town and call outback if its that easy
i really dont think they will assist
they havent assisted any of my neighbors |
You can reach them by phone at 360-618-4363, probably be best if you call them and get the address yourself to make sure it is right.
What charge controller do you have? An older MX 60 or the newer FM 60 or FM 80?

BigWooo had to wait til the planets were aligned to be able to call Outback on Skype from BCS, and the other time he just used our satellite phone.
Whenever he's called he's spoken with a technician who knows her stuff and helped figure out the problem. The technical dept is more telephone
oriented, but customer service has been responsive to email.
You will have to call Outback to get a Return Authorization number before you send anything back to them.

After looking at my manuals to refresh my memory, it seems that the MX and the FM controllers do basically the same thing. The snooze mode is just a
waiting period for the CC as it waits for the solar array to produce enough amps so that there is something for the controller to do. This usually
happens in the mornings as the sun comes up the panels start making voltage but very little amps, usually less than 1. The charge controller "wakes
up" senses that there are not enough amps and goes into "snooze" mode. This happens a few times in the mornings until the panels produce enough amps
for the CC to operate, usually more that 2 amps.
If your CC is not seeing enough amps then it will stay in "snooze" mode. If you are certain that there is not a loose connection between the array and
the charge controller then you will probably have to send it in. One thing you could try is to disable the snooze mode. You can do that on the MX 60
by going into the "advanced" menu then click "next" till the snooze appears, then click the "mode" button till you see "disable" that should disable
the snooze mode.
On the FM series CC's you don't have the disable option, but you can access the snooze screen by going through the "advanced" menu and click the "go"
button till you get to "snooze mode" then click the "amp" button and choose the .2 value. On both charge controllers the password is 141.
If the charge controller starts working but shows a very small amp value, you either have a bad connection somewhere between the array and the charge
controller or a bad charge controller that will have to be sent in for repair.
Good Luck and I hope this helps,
Larry

What happens when you go through the sequence to change the default 12v to your 24v?
I have the MX60 manual in a pdf file, would you like me to send it to you?

"Fried in a hurricane" answers a lot of questions for me. Its not just a quirk, but an "event" happened and killed it. I still would call Outback and
see what they say. Nothing to lose but the cost of a phone call.
Good luck,
Larry
