Do stop in and see Juanita at Casa Leree just off the square by the mission in San Ignacio...she is a fascinating woman and you will get a good rest at her wonderful hacienda...ask anyone and they will direct you.

Have a great adventure... and be careful as most of Hwy. 1 doesn't have a 'bike lane' (paved shoulder) yet... and is only wide enough for two trucks to pass by and no room for bikes to safely stay on the pavement!

Don't be affraid to try and spell the town: 'GUERRERO NEGRO', wrong or as G.N. (cowards) lol  It is Spanish for BLACK WARRIOR, an American whaling ship that sank trying to leave the lagoon that now has its name, as is the 'new' town since about 1957.

David K, many thanks and Aloha! We are staying at Malarrimo in the back and the owner Tony gave us a tour of the place including a full rundown of the Guerrero Negro, pics, history, super cool. Great adventure to be sure, its already been mind blowing, almost two years for me! Stoked on Baja, the driving has been hectic at times, the main thing Inhave found to watch for are the ABC busses, everything else O.K., those particular busses and thier drivers, Hell on Wheels! mahalo!

Shari, thanks and will do! Does she allow camping, our budget is fairly tight and usually camping fits the bill:)

Aloha for tonight, we will log on tomorrow morning and then you can keep an eye out for us on the road! Aloha!

Capt. Mike, I dont follow the Ayurveda refrence...?

Aloha back to you and Mahalo!

Baja is an awesome place and experience... it is only too sad that our news media has scared the heck out of those who don't know about the place or the people down there!

Baja has more history and stories than one can absorb in a lifetime... (but I am trying)!

Safe Journey to you both!

Davidk, thanks dor the blessing, we head out as soon as we pack our last few belongings and swig the remnants of a soy latte! If you run across any vegans who love a high falutin cuppa joe, AND they happen to be in Guerrero Negro, send em to the super mercado for leche de soya and then to Caprichos as they now haventhe drill down, also, cocina economica LUPITAS for a huge rice beans enselada plato! Aloha all, well see you on the road!

try to stop in and see Juanita at Casa Leree! you can probably fry an egg on the highway on this next stretch...hope you can get a lift! you can just go to the gas station and ask people for a ride who have pick ups...that's how they do it in these parts...the pump attendants will help identify who is going where.

Well worth the time to stop and see her place and talk. Just east and north of the square.
