Live video at the finish line in La Paz... Gus being interviewed next. They won at 19 hrs. 45 min. from Ensenada, and BJ Baldwin was about 16 minutes behind them in overall time... The McMillins are about to cross the finish line...

Well, how did everyone's favorite do?

First of all, congrats to the Vildosolas. Great job...especially that last segment.

"My" car, the Class 10 #1001 finished 2nd in Class and I think in the top 20 or so overall (four wheel entries). At the time I'm posting this I don't have the official results yet.

Well done to all the finishers. Just to get through that race in the required time is an accomplishment.

The team I race with "the Chacales" from Bahia De Los Angeles and Ensenada was a last minute entry. They started behind the Class 11 cars and went on to win 1st Place in the Class 7 Open division.

Congratulations to Igor Galvan, Guillermo Galvan, Oscar Solaiza, and the whole team.

This is where Dern and his friend Cy "watched" the race at 4500 ft. Dern was invited to be on the BFG radio relay crew after receiving his ham radio license. They packed up with mules. I can't wait to see all of his photos and video.

Great Oggie! Well done. I followed the 7s a bit on both the IRC and IOE tracking.

Paulina, that would put any "nose-bleed" stadium seats to shame. What a view! Hope you'll post some of the photos.

Bufeo,

I haven't seen them yet, he's still down there. I do hope to post some photos/report on a new thread after he gets back. He said it was beautiful. They spent the night at Rancho San Gregorio before heading up the mountain.

Paulina, where they on Mike's Mountain or a different peak? I am wondering if they were closer to San Juan, since you say they came up from San Gregorio.

Edit: In looking again at that awesome photo, I see they are way south of the bay, so not on Mike's Mountain for sure (which is above the bay between town and Camp Gecko)!

What a trip. I was in Baja Pits 10 prepping for when Destry Abbott came thru 13 minutes after Honda. I bet you talked to Robert on the Sat phone. I had a bad omen for our team seeing 1X fly by our pit. No chopper following, just in and out and gone. Anyway, I'll try and post a report later today.

David,

They were near the San Juan mine. Dern will be home tonight, so I'll know more and post a report on a new thread.
