I know several people using ACV and none pay 30 %. Fee is negotiation. Btw you
do not have to pay state sales tax when using an import company, as you are in mex. Your seller may require a BOL form for his records, easily available from ACV. That reduces your fee expenses.

This is good to know. I'm good at talking hardship.:saint: What is a BOL form and where do I get one?

A BOL form is issued from the transport company to the seller. It just verifies that the buyer is out of country for the sellers tax records. Easy. Some sellers do not ask for it.

FYI, BOL means "Bill of lading" which is the name of the document describing items to be shipped, quantity, destination, contractual terms for payment of all fees for import, taxes etc.

it's like a bill of sale, but specifically for shipments.

"noun
1. a detailed list of a shipment of goods in the form of a receipt given by the carrier to the person consigning the goods."

Tomorrow, I'll pay a visit to ACV Logistics. Afterwards, Leidys wants to hit the outlets in San Ysidro. It should be a full day while helping our new friends from Canada. :bounce:

ACV worked out well

This morning, I drove the auto parts to ACV Logistics. These parts should arrive in a timely fashion to Guerrero Negro (on Saturday). Thanks to Baja Nomad for information about this company. Ivan and Fabienne thank you!

Still unable to explore Baja

The Good News: The ACV shipment (I orchestrated) arrived in Guerrero Negro yesterday --

The Bad News: The [Oil Pump] USPS shipment (sent earlier in December) is stuck in Mexico City w/Customs.

So, our new Nomads in Guerrero Negro are still stuck, unable to explore Baja.

I concur with Les...Arturo at Valle Auto Parts orders and receives parts from the USA fast. Also...we will be in Gn tomorrow and Tuesday going to see some baby gray whales at the lagoon...maybe we can have dinner or even take you whale watching...might as well have some fun while you're stuck eh!

We will be at Cowboy...where are you?

It was really nice dining and introducing you to the whales at Ojo de Liebre. Hopefully our little jaunt to the lagoon cheered you up a bit...I hope you post some of your photos here in a report.

You will have a good story to tell and some of the few people who have spent time appreciating what Gn hs to offer instead of passing right through it. Think of your setback as spanish immersion!

Here we are ready to show you your first whale!

this was how our adventure started...with some nice spyhops calling us over.

then we watched some newborn babies rest on the mom's nose as she was napping.

we found a sickly whale with respiratory problems that lifted it's head out of the water with each breath.

and our voyage ended with some antics of a mama rolling on her back and showing off a bit.

Maybe if your truck hadn't broken down, you wouldnt have experienced the magic of the lagoon! Hope your part gets there soon amigos.

Our parcel that was sent with USPS on Dec 24 is still at customs in Mexico City. Nobody could tell us how long it takes. Therefore we ordered another oil pump from Switzerland with DHL Express. shipment should be here at latest on Wednesday.

And yes... our first whale experience with Shari was amazing. You can check out some pics here:

Yes, It was meant to be:-) It was great to spend time with you too. It was amazing to see & learn about these fascinating gentle giants and their newborn babies! And yes, it definetly cheered us up.

But there are worse things in life than being stuck here. We are "just" waiting for car parts. it would be worse to be injured and to be in a hospital. Also it teaches us many lessons. Learn to accept that these things can happen and to be patient and to make the best out of the situation.
