I want to be where they are.

I'm hearing that the race course only goes about 10 miles north of Borrego then over to the return section to the finish line. Not sure if that is just for the bikes or for everyone.

Multiple incidents mar the San Felipe 250 2014. Rain causes multiple landslides in the mountains above San Felipe, on the race course as it climbed through the mountain pass called ‘the summit’.

That section is now closed! Of the original 271 miles of the started race course, it has now been shortened to 219 miles. The reroute starts at RM 120 on HWY 3.

A “roll-over” at the start of the four-wheel competitors, now the event is stopped to clear the accident on the race course at RM 8. Some reports indicate fatality of the #18 kills a fan, on the course.

Tom, it looks like they cut it off way short of the route to Tres Pozos... like just over to El Chinero, then back to San Felipe...

14SF250 clarification

To bad you all who are not at the race and cannot listen to weatherman.
Details & race report:
The revised track went on the highway from RM117! to K179 then N on the SCORE track to the saddle between the east and west race tracks. That means the revised track hit the original track at RM223.8. Then Check 2 was moved to around old Rm226. BFG pit was moved east to just before the Mike turn.
The result is a reduction of total distance around 50 mi? Look at live track to see the exact new finish miles.
Truck18 (Lopez) rolled at 90 turn as reported. They stopped the race and found no injuries to anyone and restarted the race after the ambulance cleared the course. I guess those first starters will have a time adjustment?
Major issue at RM108 an off camber 90 and during the heavy rain the road became deep in mud at one point 4 vehicles were over the side and into the gully. Only the Bronco 303 was able to get out on their own. All the vehicles rolled and had body damage. 303 (Wilson & Straightiff) carried on with a 10 mile deficit to Bronco 300 (Moss bros) and passed 300 at 2 poles in the whoops and finished 4 miles ahead to win the class. Second race and only win for 303. The thing finished as built mechanically except for a broken front axle and will need all new fenders and wing. Looks like the hood and all the lights survived.
I will post pics when I get to my computer.

I heard that SCORE tried to mark the course up to the Oasis as I had shown above in blue but time was not on their side. Some think if Chris W in ole yeller was marking it may have gotten done, but that's just spectulation, Chris was too busy racing. Now Paul may have gotten it done.

Willard the speed for the MC is off. 3:53:33 would be 56.26mph for a 219 mile course.
