Who said anything about buying an OLD trailer...I would not call a 2004 model "OLD".

The newer double wide mobile homes are quite nice. I think that's what Udo is talking about. Check it out.

Would you have a contact info, J.P?
There are a lot of people that live in R.P. (I was just there last Saturday).

Thanks, Buddy!

I will be bringing a triple wide unit. But I don't want to write the check until I have all my ducks in a row, and the last is transportation.

Hola Terry!

Thanks for the information...however, the fist two are a NO, and the second two don't know and will have someone call me back.

At least we tried.

Saturday morning will be my deadline to write or not write the check. The mobile home is parked in a park in San Diego and they are converting the place to condos. Everyone must move out.
BTW there may be some other great deals there since there are 60+ mobile homes there.

Udo

I believe these people have some info, or least transported to Baja at one time:

Next time you are in Ensenada, head up Hwy 3, past San Antonio de Las Minas. Just past town, towards Tecate, there is a mobile home lot on your left. They also might have info, or maybe could transport from Otay.

Have you contacted these people??

Udo:

I asked a friend some time ago who moved one down from North San Diego to Rosarito. He gave me this contact:

http://marquezmobilehome.com/

Let me know if that works for you. I get this question from time to time and haven't heard any feedback - good or bad...

We looked at Gammell's mobile home. It is an older unit, but renovated. He thinks the place is made of gold, however.

Many of the 70s 80s models were poorly built with some horrible material choices but you get into some of the high end survivors from the late 40s to mid 60s and they can be worth a pretty penny.
We scooped up a few mid century modern mobile homes and travel trailers and planted them on the ranchito. I think growing up in Los Angeles during the sixties placed a love in my heart for the cars, architecture and yes the trailers.
Good to see you setting up a place closer so you can enjoy Mexico Udo, all the best, Lionel

All I did was comment on most of what you see here today.

Rex is outta the business. My understanding is he had a falling out with his partner at the time, who owns the used mobile home business on Hwy-1 between Maneadero and Ensenada. Anyway, their market fell apart around eight years ago with the economy.

Udo.........we need to talk before you get involved with the trash pile you mentioned. That could turn into the worst purchase of your life.

And people are aghast at the prospect of living on rented land in Baja.

Thanks Lionel!
My current medical condition, although not as serious as it was, forces me to find a domicile closer to the border. More than likely, I'll have to make Scripps my home hospital in San Diego.

This is the most solid lead I have gotten so far...I actually got to speak with a live person (albeit in Spanish). He actually was at the mobile home park evaluating other mobile homes to move. There are apparently over 800 mobile homes there.

Thanks, Ron!

BTW It is highly impolite for someone to get a referral from you (or anyone else for that matter) and not thank you or give you feed back for the referral.
Kind of like people on FB getting birthday wishes from their friends and only sending one thank you to the friend group. I got 168 birthday wishes last month and I took the time to thank everyone who sent me a birthday wish in an individual tank you.

de Anza Cove, right? 800 homes for sale and they have to move them all by February. That's about 30 per week. It's a buyer's market!

They should pay you to take it off their hands.
