Thanks to Tom, Al, Sweetwater, Gulliver, and others... I will add a note about the roadwork underway to my road guide notes. In February, the road was
only rough and needed 4WD (to prevent spinning tires) between Palo Chino and near El Horno (up and down the mesa grades).

Pretty soon I'll have to wait for a flagger to let me pass the striping truck. I can see a traffic jam of limos next.

The NORRA race will pass through there (somewhere, pit is in San Juanico and it comes out North of Loreto).. That kind of traffic will change the
condition of the road.

Yes. That's one of the things I was doing in there. I was checking out a radio site for them. They would like to place a communications vehicle on El
Pabellon just North of Comundu. The road to the top is fairly marginal. I think the Mexican service personnel for the existing equipment up there must
arrive by helicopter. There has been zero surface traffic up there since last summer's rains.

Mike, regarding El Pabellon:
We went halfway up it last month for similar reason. Road bed is heavily eroded. No signs of traffic. It could be done with a bike, quad or short
wheelbase high clearance 4WD. Can't say what the road conditions are at the top, expect to have to roll a few rocks!
I had the machete out hacking so we could turn the 4WD van around.
I met technicians at Sierra de la San Fransisco who helped erect towers and antennas there. They said all equipment was brought in with helicopter,
but they had to walk up! I suspect similar strategy now for El P.
Ran out of time this season. But next season!....

That's about how far up I made it. Past the old white concrete repairs (I think that's what they were) around the first switch back and maybe half of
the way up the East side. Then the mini canyons and loose dirt got the best of me.
If I hadn't been alone I might had done more kamikaze stuff but getting a bike off of me didn't appeal to me just then. It was enough of a hassle
getting turned around without a flop.
I'll let wild bill deal with it.
