My wife and I have decided that we now REFUSE to cook tuna ever again. Even tataki-style or the ubiquitous rare-seared style is just not as good as sashimi, nigiri or a spicy tuna hand roll in soy paper.

Wishin' I was tuna fishin'.............gonna have to settle for halibut and salmon out of Port Hardy in the next few weeks.

Ever noticed that the fish you donĀ“t catch anymore sound way better than the fish you are catching? I would kill for some fresh King Salmon or Buts!

Someone once asked me what is the best way to cook yellowtail. I said "don`t cook it".
BTW for yellowtail, I think it`s better on the fourth day than fresh. But fresh is good too!!

Ahhh, Port Hardy, wish I was up there now. Not for the town or the fishing but to hike The North Coast trail, check out Ronning's Garden, and of course Port Hardy has the giant carrot in the park to see!

I have licensing for nine days, but the weather up there is bound to keep me off the water for a few days AND I have access to a Subaru. Where else should I be checking out? Not gonna pay for a freshwater license, though. Just the ocean with the salmon stamp.

This thread is about warm beer, isn't it? :?:

Sharri, I thought the coop would be going after any tuna they could get. Are they set up to can it?

Ross already caught some dorado so they are also around and there are some lovely kelp paddies we havent seen for a couple years here.

The coop would need a special permit for tuna Russ.
