Honestly random road rage violence probably happens more often in LA than in TJ. I started this thread just to see if anyone had heard of anything out
of the ordinary in that stretch. In the 25 years I have been going down to Baja Ive never felt unsafe other than a few cop shake downs.

My recollection... is that during that timeframe, the area of the Intl Blvd through to Playas was commonly noted for incidents such as this...
especially early a.m. on weekends. Victims of such were both gringos and mx nationals. In both directions of travel as well.

There has always been crime in Baja. Sometimes the bandidos kick it up a notch but in my 45 years of traveling to Baja, the only problem that we've
encountered is sometimes the salsa on my tacos is to damn hot.

Those were the periods of the torso hanging from bridges, haven't seen or heard of any since. Of course the army base in TJ is gone(source of the
bodies)

I call BS, unless the OP also provides a headline, police report, insurance report, or at least some photos.
There are forces out there, that will do and say anything to discourage Mexico tourism.
I'm also trying to understand the ballistic trajectory, of the alleged incident.

A driver in the Long Beach area once attempted to run me off of the road - twice, for the hell of it. I saw him exit the freeway behind me as he sped
up beside me and then proceed to drive into my 35" BFGs. My wife was afraid that he was possibly armed, but I tested that assumption by pulling up
beside him (in Long Beach, Ca) and asked him what his problem was. When he saw what I looked like, he was too scared to respond.
