Arnold Sentefitt called San Nicolas "Punta Pulpito" for the point to the south. The Baja Almanac still shows a runway at San Nicolas. San Nicolas is about 5 miles down the coast from San Sebastian, there is a road.

Rancho Rosarito is on Hwy. 1 at the junction to San Nicolas. The runway is along the road or actually used as a road. It was built in the early days of Hwy. 1 construction for supervisors to fly in and check progress. See Bahia Concepcion to the north.

San Sebastian Cove is a beautiful secret paradise and all the houses are top notch. The road from SC to S Nic was washed out in a few places, 4x4 would be best, as of 8 months ago.
I do not know the OP.

I can give you 130,000 reasons why he might want a "doubting thomas".

Don't think its to much to ask for someone interested in selling the place to actually post photos, and answer legitimate questions.

I don't know the OP, but I was in that house 2 years ago, it's very nice. It's one of the nicest in the Cove. There are some there that aren't something I'd be interested in, this isn't one of them. There used to be a several page article online about the building of this house and the people that built it. Very rustic and built very heavy duty.

I would like to apologize to the OP if this is legit. But my post was simply a warning to be careful. You are new to us and your original post didn't give vary much information.

I wish all the best and hope you find the right person.

It's not a scam...I've been having some internet issues at the house but I'll post pictures this week. I've never had reason to take pictures inside the house and I just got down here again. I did reply to two messages but forgot to check on this post.

The house is nice but is also needs some maintenance which I have been chipping away at. I am asking $150k for 1/2 ownership and would prefer not to have overlapping use. I'm looking for a partner that is mechanically/electrically inclined like myself and will enjoy it and leave it in better condition each visit. I have a Jeep Liberty, a 20' aluminum center console, a 12' 8hp boat to fish Rooster in Concepcion that could be included.

My direct email is twiersum@comcast.net

My neighbors Richard & Cheryl are selling their house as well if you are looking for a very nice home....https://bajasur.craigslist.com.mx/reo/d/waterfront-property-for-sale/6560912064.html?lang=en&cc=us

I rode into San Sebastion in 2005 and 2008....one of the homeowners came up to the 4 of us with beers in hand in 2005, saying ," I have always wanted (when he rode into a Baja spot in the outback) someone to offer me a beer....so here's to you guys".

What a great welcoming :saint:

I was looking for some gas and they pointed to a guy's place at the cove's south end...."Brown Rice D-----" offered a gallon and showed me around....told a great story about smugglers and helicopters...

Seemed like a tight little community....

Maybe the "road" part of the runway is still usable.

I never found it. But I see the topic is old.
Found a nice cove when I was looking. No runway but a nice anchorage.
Keep dreaming.

The runway at Punta Pulpita is well maintained and easy to find
actually Punta San Antonio is closer and should have provided the name
but that is not the only glitch - the Punta Pulpito description is combined with an image of the airstrip in San Nicolas (now used for horse racing)

No...Cypriano and Manuela lived at San Sebastian many years ago in a shack with a dug well just as one reached the cove. He was a cripple,in a wheelchair. We left a Panga anchored in the cove and drove in now and then to fish. There were, as I remember only 3-4 places there then. One was owned by a Lady? from Oregon who had a great collection of 50's R&R stuff....Big dust up there, shots fired Wild West...Quite the place...
