yes Mati's grandfather tended the vineyard and was one of the principle wine maker. The new vines they managed to save are looking good...hope another hurricane doesnt wipe them out...but they have moved them to a safer spot now...for my taste the wine from old grapes is just sooooo rich!!!

David...the speaker system does work as Zihul demonstrated it! In this photo you can see the different symbols of all three denominations, Jesuits on the left, Franciscans in the middle and Dominican on the right. It is interesting to see elements of all 3 in this mission/cantina...jajaja

The coat of arms for each Order are at these links:

Franciscan Order: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franciscans

Dominican Order: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dominican_Order

In our 2012 book 'The Old Missions of Baja & Alta California' we included them:

one of their sons Eric speaks English but I highly recommend getting in touch with Zihul Martinez (tel:615 159 7342 or on FAcebook)who is a plethora of information about all things Baja especially about our area in the center of the peninsula.

But really these folks are so wonderful language isnt really a problem and you can communicate without it.
