Living in Indio in the early '70s, a friend who owned a Sandrail invited us along for a weekend at Glamis. All of those wild, crazy (and often inebriated) high speed drivers combined with the added dimension of (sometimes) zero ability to know what was coming .................... I was never tempted to go back.

I rode my RM250 out in Glamis a few times, a lot of fun, but definitely pretty scary with all the traffic. Had to keep your head on two swivels.

Yes, living often leads to death.

This was a great quote from one of Baja's greatest fans who died when his plane flipped during an emergency water landing, returning from the Baja 1000, in 2010...

"Plan your life as if you are going to live forever. Live your life as if you are going to die tomorrow." - Carlos Fiesta

Great words from a great Baja adventurer! Adding to my signature...Thanks, David!

With age comes a cage,
along with an ambulance standing by in the paddock of the racetrack.
This is what is at every sanctioned car club race event I've participated in or I don't go.

High performance driving or riding is NOT safe at all, full 10/10 commitment at anytime, anywhere is even riskier.
R.I.P , see ya on the other side
