I would say the big thing they are looking for is money. Personally I love it. Seizing drugs headed north is one thing but the cartels only have a limited investment at that point. Seizing their profits after they got their product north and distributed is a whole different matter. Additionally they are searching for weapons in a cooperative effort in support of the Mexican government.

U.S. Southbound Checks


I can remember "occasional" checks @ Mexicali going back (maybe) 20 years. The photo shown appears to make those checks a daily activity.
